Karog Stop start not working

Featured Replies

Is it worth the bother during a Covid 19 Lock down in Wales?

If the car starts and runs and stop / start is not functioning then it can be sorted later.

If the car fails to Start then Skoda Assist can be told to sort it with a new battery in and stop messing about wasting the OP's time.

If Stop / Start not working during lock down and doing limited travel means that you spend more on fuel tell Skoda UK to recompense you.

So that might be 50 pence due to the owner for every 100 miles driven.

While on the subject.

On an 140 mile journey today I plugged a digital voltmeter (Available for a few £s on eBay) into the 12v auxiliary socket.

The charging voltage  of 14.4 volts was only apparent during overrun ( i.e, engine not pulling) and on braking, again the engine not pulling.

While in drive ( engine pulling) the charging voltage dropped to around 12v so virtually no charge as the battery voltage is most likely above this. This seems an awful lot of fuss to get a slightly improved mpg. And as the car ages a great deal more to fail !

Yep, poor design.

All for the benefit of WLTP.

Following lockdown guess there will be  a few battery issues with cars parked up for weeks/months

Yes, we did more batteries after lockdown than during the previous winter.

All through lack of use.
