with alternative, independent, dTMPS kit these positions not required

additionally it will show temperature too

53€       2017 Direct TPMS Set works well since 2017. jun

3.61€    2020 Direct TPMS Set not tested yet

It might be cheaper and easier to install. But doesnt have the same integration and I personally wouldnt want that slapped on my dash.

@RT_SGP - the TPMS module i bought came pre-loaded with a parameter file, so i don't have step by step instructions for it - sorry.

The RDKS generator (link here) is used to create the ZDC parameter file, which is used to load into module #65-tire pressure, via VCP or ODIS.

u can have multiple tire sets in ur parameter file, or have just the one set of tire pressures.

Can't agree more. Nothing beat a clean dashboard with OEM integration. Also I am excited with this project and hope to enjoy the journey (learning!) to get there.

I bought the same VW TPMS module which means that it should come with pre-loaded parameter file. Does it mean that i can skip this step then? :)

likely then it will already b parameterized, so yes, no need for the VCP/ODIS steps.

the only downside with the pre-loaded dataset is that tire sizes pre-loaded may not necessarily match ur car tire size.

so select a tire set that matches the tire pressures u want to use.

that's wat really matters - the target pressure readings for comfort, standard & fully loaded.

the tire size description is not important for the TPMS function.

alternative dTPMS display can be kept in whatever pocket you like

(place under windscreen helps to charge it by solar panel, but it can be connected to 5v MicroUSB cable)
opposite to OEM system, where info is always hidden under several sub-menus

i never have told OEM system is bad choice,
just alternative isn't as crime as someone described here :)

yes i know, mainstream population is happy with limited functionality of Android Auto / Car Play on head unit's screen,
but i prefer independent displays -
phone's 6.7" for navigation (Waze for local routes, Google Maps for abroad trips)
while head unit's 8" will stay free for multimedia and drive modes

@JR RSYay! It works! But I think certain coding was not done right as I do get pop up messages on my dashboard that TPMS was deactivated.

I could not execute the following steps via OBDELEVEN.

Modify ABS coding
Controller 03 – ABS
Coding
Select Long Coding Helper

Byte 27:-
Bit 4 – Dectivate/Untick
Bit 5 – Dectivate/Untick
Bit 6 – Dectivate/Untick
X111XXX -> X000XXXX

Byte 28:-
Bit 7 – Dectivate/Untick
1XXXXXXX -> 0XXXXXXX

I'll post up the exact VCDS/OBDEleven coding steps shortly.

I'll also post up the link that allows u to create the RDX parameter file, to b loaded via VCP/ODIS.

Thank you @JR RS! Just to confirm. Byte 27, Bit 4, 5 & 6 as well as Byte 28 Bit 7: are these Bits supposed to be tick or untick? The screenshots above appeared to be ticked.

At the time of my retrofit, I had VCDS, and uses that to make the changes.  I unticked the bits indicated above.

See screenshots below of the source I used.

I haven't made such changes via OBDEleven, but it is how it looks now.

When looking at the OBDEleven - don't forget the Bits r displayed in reverse.  Starts with Bit 7 and end with Bit 0.

Just make sure only deactivate the correct bits.

Don't worry about the other bits, nor make changes to them.

@JR RS- Thank you for your guidance throughout this journey. I repeated the steps in OBDELEVEN from start to end again and it is allowing me make all the coding changes listed by you, inclusive of the part that I originally got stuck.

Everything is displaying correctly now. It is nice to see how TPMS info is being integrated into the display panel as well as the dashboard, particularly more so on a digital cockpit.

Now onto the next project that I am contemplating - OEM 360 Camera on Superb.

Brilliant news @RT_SGP!!!

Glad it's all working now.

wow, 360 area view is an epic retrofit.

let us know if u go ahead with it - I'd b interested.

I found a supplier from China. The same dude who sold me the VW TPMS and module holder. He has everything except the grill. I will check with him if he is able to secure stock.

OBDEleven has an app feature to turn this on without coding. I’ve been researching and can’t find any precedence on this modification so it will be a risky project…

Youll have to create a thread to show this one off. The Earlier mk3 Superb's didnt even have this as an option and only the brand new ones do in the UK. Our parts catalogue doesnt even list the lower wing mirror covers with the holes for camera.

That being said as long as you get all relevant parts that fit, coding and wiring should be no different to any other car on the MQB platform that has this option

EDIT:

Just looked on the catalogue and there isnt even an option for 'with 360 camera' grill for anything up 2018

ANOTHER EDIT:

07/19 onwards is when there is an available grill for the front 360 camera, the grill youve pictured is also for the likes of this as you can see the radar bracket is tiny and just clips into the grill unlike the older 3v which bolted to a bracket behind the grill, not attached at all.

It might be a job of making a custom grill as I dont believe you can fit new to older.

Youll have to be more specific, what car, have you retrofitted it, what did you fit, where did you get the parts, how long ago?

@knorac- that error looks like it's not connected properly to the CANBUS.

Does the module have the parameter file loaded in it?

Also, where have u sourced the permanent 12v power source for the TPMS module from?

The power is connected in fuse box.

Modul is from aliexpress and by the word of guy who coded the antena have parameter installed.

Car is skoda octavia vrs 245 2019.

My only concern is that wires are not conecte properly.

Here on pictures u can see how is connected. Is that good?

Nobody in my city knows how to do this so i am on my own 😞

so any help is good :)
