Been a while since I have been on here.

I have a 14 Octavia Elegance (not estate) with the MIB1, 6in screen with buttons.

Wanting to upgrade to a MIB2 glovebox unit along with an 8in screen (either original or facelift)

Aware I would need to upgrade the USB as well. I also don't have a canton system.

I'm not fussed about CDs/ Video playback. But wireless android car play, google maps on the screen, and not losing any functionality is what I am looking for.

For someone who is not very tech savvy, all the different variation of model numbers can be a bit overwhelming.

Was wondering if somebody could kindly post the correct model numbers that would be suitable for my car, so I can scour the net and ebay looking for second hand parts.

I was going to message Pab direct, but it says I need a content count of 20 to send personal messages, thought I would pay £10 and subscribe but that has not helped either ha!

Any help would be appreciated as I am looking to do this asap.

Hello, and thanks for the great info @pab567 @SashaGrace , I have read a few topics on Skoda infotainment upgrades and just wanted to make sure: Is it okay for me to upgrade the screen in my 2016 Skoda Octavia Mk3 to 5E0919605N or what is the best option here to get biggest screen possible as a plug and play match? I'm guessing the unit is MIB 2 Amundsen but correct me if I'm wrong.

You have Bolero MIB2, with DAB/DAB+, MY17. I sent you link to SW upgrade in PM. Unfortunately, activation of SmartLink in this unit can't be done from SD, it requires unit to be opened and soldered. If you are interested pls contact me in PM.

Indeed, this is Amunden MIB2, without DAB/DAB+, MY17. Yes, you can replace the display unit with 5E0919605N, everything will work as expected, including APP button.

Check the buttons, especially right side...

Can I use display 5E0919605M with my glove box unit MIB1 Amundsen (2 SD)? I found one cheap on eBay.

currently having some Smartlink connection issues with my Columbus head unit and wondered if simply enough a software update might help, I've had the superb 5 years and never updated the software, could someone supply a link & advise on how to do this please.

I've just bought an 3V0035020B and a 5E0919606
my Octavia does currently have a Bolero Radio without DAB

My biggest Question is now witch cable do i need to connect the main unit with the screen ? i can see now that the current LVDS cable doesn't fit
i also need to by my understanding upgrade my USB port what parts do i need for that ?

Just take a knife and cut off the pink plug the excessive plastic trim that doesn not allow it to put into grey socket in 3V0035020B. Same to be done with blue plug that must be put into black socket of 5E0919606.

Pls share VIN in PM so I can check your configuration (required to answer your question abouth USB).

You can't, to use 5E0919605M you must have your glove box unit replaced as well.

Hi all, can someone tell me what is difference between this 2 versions?

I have upper version radio, and the camera doesnt work (black white image, and no trajectory(retrofit from aliexpress - sinosmart)

but the bottom one works. ( from the post from Scala retrofit reverse camera)
