Delivery times?

Featured Replies

Hi Im a new member on here just wanted to share a few things. Ordered my VRS 2nd July 2021 and as of yesterday the factory still haven't accepted my order yet. My VW Tiguan lease runs out in November but thankfully as its a VW group car I ordered (the VRS) VW are letting me lease month by month for the Tiguan until my VRS arrives.

I have been watching this forum for a while and I can tell you what's happening in the automotive industry. I am a transport manager that delivers finished seat sets to Nissan and JLR. JLR shut for most of September to build up parts and are due in next week however production is limited. Nissan will close next week and we are expecting more down days and this is all because of a lack of parts mainly semiconductors. Its expected to be like this until the first quarter of next year maybe even longer. Because I can see day to day what's happening I can be a little more patient waiting for delivery. All manufacturers are the same so if you cancel one order and go to another manufacturer chances are you will be in the same boat with an even longer wait.

Reading these posts my problem is with the lease agents / dealers and manufacturers. If they were honest and just said we have no idea when your car will arrive (which is the truth) I'm sure people will accept that and wait. As things are unless your car is at the port and fully built there is no way they can honestly tell you when you will get your car

  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

They wont be honest... if they are the deal.might not happen. For me the best thing for them to do now is to give presents. Tires rims other stuff to make you fell valued.

Received this updated from my dealer today for a 1.5tsi estate SE ordered in mid June.

‘No real news to give you at the moment regarding your new Octavia Estate.

But just so you are as in the loop on production as I am, the 2 updates below are the latest we have had from Skoda themselves.

Update 21 September 2021:

The factory will stop production lines in the Mladá Boleslav and Kvasiny plants for the entire calendar week 39, which was already due to be a shorter production week because of bank holidays in the Czech Republic.

Further COVID-19 outbreaks in Asia, for example in Malaysia, are forcing semiconductor manufacturers to close their factories again. This has resulted in industry-wide adjustments to car production, and ŠKODA AUTO is also affected.

Update 23 September 2021:

We’re experiencing delays in production because of ongoing extended lead times for vital components. We’ll keep you informed of any updates on production, as well as any information on when affected units will be rescheduled in production.

I know this isn’t the news you were wanting to hear and it certainly isn’t the news I wanted to be giving. I will endeavour to keep in touch with any updates as and when they happen.’

Just to update you people.. I ordered it on june 10th and just today they contacted me that it will arrive in a days time. It was octavia plug in hybrid with style equipment.. Oh God im jacked. JACKED TO THE TITS!

Good for you ... our mhev ordered april is nowhere to be seen...

Just looking in at the thread me and others probably have no idea which country posters are in where they are getting their new cars or not.

Croatia. The dealer was Porsche

In UK

Superb estate SEL iv (met paint and reversing camera only extras) ordered 5 May. Arrived in UK a couple of weeks ago and at the dealer last Friday. Paperwork all done online and car registered today. In fact the V5 arrived in this morning's post. Collection 11 Oct (Mon week) because that's the earliest I can get there.

As an aside, I was offered £12.5k for my trade in which was a very fair valuation at the time. However, used car prices have gone a bit silly and the dealer I originally bought the car from (Focus ST Estate, 66 plate, 38k miles) is giving me £16.2 for it.

I have no idea why my car has come through so quickly compared the others who have been waiting longer.

Ordered a combi clever+ (style) 1.5TSI manual in januari. Car was build in june but is waiting for chips. Im from Belgium. Currently driving a new octavia combi 1.0tsi from my dealer for a fixed Cost/month.m which a got after threatening to cancel the contract.

I don't understand that some People are waiting delivery of their "first" edition ordered october 20 while you read messages of People that ordered half a year (!!!) later and are already driving their octavia. Yes there is a worldwide problem with chips but such a difference in waittime is Just mismanagement in my opinion.

Everyday im hoping to recieve news from my order because i dont think it is good for a car to stand in the parkinglot for months.

Cars spend their lifetime sitting waiting to get driven for a few minutes or hours occasionally or more often.

Parked up new unfinished cars are not really an issue other than the big difference between the first built date and first registered date.

Used cars can sit months waiting on new owners as well, they might get an occasional Italian Tune up.

Tens of thousands of cars were bunkered for months while VW Group got WLTP Certification for them.

They are out of or going out of Manufacturers warranty around now.

Will also give my input.

Ordered RS with dcc at the end of April. Planned delivery was originally in September. Now they tell me that my car is built but waiting for some missing parts. No planned delivery date anymore.
I am from Estonia.

Hi guys, found your forum today while I was researching something about the new Octavia. I just ordered mine 2 weeks ago, the lady said 300-330 days of waiting time. It's a manual 1.5 SportLine in Race Blue. I have a feeling that it will be a longer wait than what they claim.

That means 9-10 months...almost a year 😞

Yeap, I would consider myself lucky if the car does in fact arrive in time specified. As I've said in my introductory thread, I have 2 more cars at home so waiting is not that big of a deal. But it kind of is because I have to drive my wife's 14 year old Peugeot 206. Not the most refined of cars to say the least. 😁

I'm waiting mine from April :)  and is not even Style, is Ambition 1.0 only with Driving Modes and Virtual Cockpit.

Hi, I ordered my Skoda Karoq in early June and the dealer told me that the car will be delivered in 15-20 weeks at the end of September. Then they announced that it would be delivered at the end of October. The latest update will be delivered next year in June without specifying a delivery week. Two weeks ago I also received the VIN number. The worst part is that there are not many cars in stock. Cheers!

Why will you get the car next year in June if you got de VIN??? Waiting for chips or what?

Dealer in New Zealand rang me during the week - if I was prepared for my RS to come without Canton (ordered in July) it would be "less waiting time".... no clarification from them or Skoda NZ of exactly how long that meant unfortunately. Also no guarantees that without Canton would mean anytime soon!

So still looking forward to driving my 2023 RS with Canton... in 2023.... 🙄🙄

@alexutzuyes same problem chips...

A complete farce this delivery was down for 26 September then it was put back to October then 5 November just last week. It was 17 December then yesterday told January 2022. That is 31 weeks if I had known I would of looked for a different car.to far down the line to cancel.why did they take the order when they knew the delivery date giving to me 26 September was never going happen.?

How do you know they knew that? Pretty sure every single manufacturer was expecting shortages to ease at the end of 2022 and instead they got worse because of additional factors. Your message makes no sense whatsoever.

Just after I ordered my car I was told off several people the delivery date were going to be way out.in a devious way they did say I may get the car sooner or later then provisionally date.when you read all the other post about deliveries a lot of other people have been told the same as me.so I don't know what you mean how I know, just read all the stories on delivery dates.

Hy guys. Ordered my Skoda Octavia 1.5 mild hybrid dsg on 6th of August. Still have no new information till this date. The car isn't even in the production plan yet.

Seller in August told me, that i will have to wait 4-6 months. I think it will be more like 8+...

Given that our MHEV 1.5 DSG was order back in April and there is no delivery date even planned... do the math : )
