Delivery times?

Featured Replies

Ford is a global corporation.   Skoda is just part of the VW Group and really low in any priority with VW group after Porsche, Audi, VW and maybe even Bentley before you get to SEAT / Cupra and eventually Skoda.

  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

Totally get that, was answering back on the point about the BMW salesman having to lie as in terms of production priority. Given that BMW and Ford are king of the hill in their respective organisations so should be able to provide more accurate estimates.

Estimates is totally nail on the head.  Sales executives can be as much treated like 🍄 as customers.   In the dark and shovelled sh!the.  Or some are just the keeper of the shovel..

Seems a bit odd that they need to lie unless BMW are directing it. My brother in law is waiting for an X3, the salesman spoke to him at the weekend and told him that his production date jumps from day to day on their system. It has been moving around in both directions and is the same for pretty much every order on the system. My dad has a Ford Kuga coming and the factory gave a March delivery date and have since moved it forwards to mid February along with most orders they had on the system for March, seems Ford have managed to get their house in order atleast whilst the rest of the market is still scrambling around.

They lie, because they (dealers) also don't have information and don't want to lose customers. So they say it will be soon and so on.

Yeah, it all boils down to Skoda at the end of the day. I've been at the dealer - they have shown me on screen what information they have - not much. I've written a polite, but confronting letter to the local importer. Not that I demand my car ahead of the queue, but they should do a better job of managing customer expectations and providing at least some feedback and status updates on the order. They replied back that they are sorry, but, quote "...currently all the processes are not normal." At least they've promised to forward my feedback to Skoda.

If we complain to manufacturer directly or via importers/dealers that will probably not make our cars come sooner. But just maybe that will help folks at Skoda to see that customers are not happy and they need to do a better job in terms of providing timely and accurate information :)

Agree styling of lights weren't best looking but they performed flawlessly along with rest of car - and that's what matters to me.

Cheers.

And you bought the mk4? 😱

Hi all.

Sorry for this long post . But please bear with me.

Been following this thread since August when I ordered my Octavia VRS with DCC and Canton as only extras.    Was told march 22 for delivery which at the time was fine for me as I was aware of the long lead times and my current Skoda karoq is not due for change until mar 23.  Chased the dealer before Xmas and they finally come back to me and they still have no build date confirmed.  😭

Anyway.  I wanted to re raise a question I asked 1 week after I ordered my car.  A originally asked for a car in white but a week after ordering I asked if I could change the colour to graphite grey and also drop the free rear wiper I had originally picked.  Was told that changes might mean an increase in price as the car would no longer be protected by the price promise agreed at the time and any inflationary annual price rises by Skoda would be passed on.

I called them out on this and surprise surprise they managed to change the order as it has not been locked in the system yet and still price protected.

Now with the delays on going and no build date I have been getting itchy to change my options again.  I am considering getting  the reversing camera and potentially the winter pack .  I know this might delay my car further which if so I would not proceed.  If this proves not to make any difference and I change the order,  my other concern is the price rise.  I know Skoda put their prices up last quarter so the potential for the price to change is real now.

Could I offset any price rise by demanding that my trade in  which was agreed in Aug also increase to cover the price increase.  Im hearing used cars are going up and up so I think it's a fair compromise.

Any feedback welcome

Thanks

I suspect that changes made to an order might reset your car's position in the build queue. That would be your biggest issue.

Re: your car, get an independent valuation on it then work out what is best to do. The majority of the rise in 2nd hand values was between Msrch and October last year so it will depend on when you ordered.

My motor arrived in December and was a January order. The sensors are great, you won't need a camera and I wouldn't remove the rear wiper. It has zero impact on the aesthetics. My only option was DCC which is great in comfort mode.

Ordered my Skoda Karoq 4x4 diesel Style on June 3rd received on January 27th.

Finally, I got my car. Good luck to everyone.

When i ordered a Golf back then, i also changed some specs and was told it would have an influence in waiting time. Do not remember how much i waited for it tho, think 4 months.

I live near cargo train station in Ljubljana / Slovenia. Today there is a looooooong train ful of Skodas parked. As much as I can see, mostly Octavia (all of them are hatchback) and Kodiaq, but also few Scalas. 🙂

btw, there is only a small part of train on the photo. It's two level and at least few hundred meters long.

The best thing to do here is ask your dealer if this is possible and if there are any possible conseqences. I can only tell you, that I first ordered the car in July. In August I changed it to hatchback from wagon (misunderstanding when first ordering) and added reverse camera, which was a new order, so I went to the back of the line. But my situation is different.

My seller told me that i can change everything other just no transmission or type hatchback or wagon. If i would like to change this last two i will need to reorder car and sign again contract.

Hello everybody. I am from Spain. Today starts the waiting period for my Octavia iV. Many months ahead. Dealer told me October but I am ready to wait till 1Q 2023. This is crazy.. I hope this period will finally be shorter. It is great to have this forum to make this waiting easier.

Good luck @almarote. Hoping for 2022 for you. Worth waiting for 👍

At marnet-mobility website I can read Voraussichtlich ab Q3/2023 what it has to be a mistake. It has no sense…

Oh, look, it is going up. Last week it was Q1/2023 for iV and 8 months for Octavia, Octavia is now 10 months. So if you add also those additional options like RS... you can make it to 19 months. This is INSANE. 🥴

Those of us who had NO news so far about their car's production week, should now add several more months to those 10-19 months that you mention...
Details below:

I wonder if at least some of us will start receiving calls/emails from the dealer informing about the waiting time extension... Or will they just let us wait in the dark?

Yes, but I don’t think that information is correct. I mean, Octavia iV is the only model with that delivery time. Any other VAG car is expected to be delivered in 2022. They manufacture more phev cars not only Octavia iV like Superb iV that are 9 months, so here is something wrong.
