I’m concerned by how few orders on the spreadsheet have reached completion. Not good!!

Pretty sure 50% of the users forget the excel when they get their car.

  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

Update from the lease company this morning, my VRS iV estate ordered in September 2021 has been delayed again until early October apparently.

I’m thinking it’ll be 2023 before I actually see it😂

Be interesting to see how you get on with this buddy as I’m in almost exactly the same boat. VRS iV ordered in October 2021. Through Voozo leasing. But I did throw a reverse camera on it.

I’ve not heard anything, and neither have the lease company, not even a made up eta. I’m not holding out much hope for this side of Xmas 🤣

I ordered my iV VRS on 7th October and it arrived at my dealership on 12th of this month. I'm not picking it up until this Friday though. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for what comes out of the factory.

Congratulations! You have an interesting order date; it falls on my birthday 😀. I can only dream of getting my car in time; I've been waiting for it since July 2021.😞

There is a reason, though: orders for Octavia versions with a higher profit margin go into production before other, prior, orders. It's more profitable for the company, and in the times of setbacks in the supply chains and rising inflation, it's reasonable company's strategy. They have enough orders to pick from. The rest of us are just waiting for their mercy to pick up our order and get it to the manufacturing pipeline.🤷‍♀️

^^^ Nonsense.

They were turning out Scala & Kamiq because low emission versions and if they can electrified models but not really making any effort to build and have delivered TDIs' in various models.

They still deliver TDI's and they deliver the ones with better margin first. This year I read an interview with someone at Skoda. He mentioned they have better margins for Scala, Enyaq and I think also Kamiq if I remember correctly. So I agree with AudreySI. I am not saying you are wrong about emissions, but also margins come into play.

Obviously they still deliver TDI,s. But not so many that the average CO2 will get them fined on every car sold / first registered.   If they could punt out loads of Enyaq, kokiaq vRS,. Superb and Octavia iV,s I am sure they would.  They can not, and they need to keep the Dealerships ticking over.     Ps. I read what a Skoda or VW CEO says, or some media, designer / engineer says in press releases or Skoda Story lines.  All needs taken with a pinch of salt.

This doesn't explain why some get TDIs much faster than others who ordered much earlier. The margin theory does.

Right you are unfortunately...
Today I found out from a friend that his neighbor just received his car, almost identical to mine - same trim level, but even more options than the packs I have. He also ordered a TDI 150hp DSG, but his order is almost 1 month later than mine, so he ended up paying several kEuro more than me. That's because some clever-pack discounts were no longer applicable in Romania several weeks after I placed the order.
So why the *** did they ask me to remove some options from the order??? That's a really bad joke!!! I now admit I was stupid to accept their proposal, but I must give the credit to Skoda for most of the guilt.

i ask before i would remove any option if can they guarantee that car will be delivered before. and they told me . that this guarantee they would not give so i didn't remove any additional option.

i was temptet but i change my mind last second.

Yep, I had exactly the same kind of dialogue with my dealer. The answer was "no, we can't guarantee that; since we cannot guarantee a delivery date anyway... but there are so many unfinished cars 'cause of lack of components..." Therefore I thought it kind of made sense... I'm not going to miss the park-assist; it's the reverse camera I regret giving up.

Now seeing the very same configuration (even higher spec'ed) ordered later and delivered sooner than mine, that really pi*** me off!
So far I wasn't giving a rat's ass on the delay... now it bothers me.

I know, it’s really cases like these that make the whole waiting issue even more intolerable…

So I ordered our Octavia se L estate August 21 and have just been given a build date of the first week in September with a delivery estimate of early October (UK). We are part ex’ing it with our current car. Has anyone had any issues with Skoda not honouring the price agreed for the old car on the order form?

Dealer will likely have only guaranteed your trade-in price for a very short period of time. Or perhaps given you a projected estimate (though I doubt they would have committed themselves to anything even off-the-record) Whatever, you will definitely be way beyond that now.
However as @roottoot has said. Used prices are very strong right now so go in swinging!…

Maybe 10 years or so ago when I was taking delivery of a Yeti, the dealer (AC) tried to pull a fast one on the trade-in price on the day I was collecting the car, car was sitting ready with my plates on it (was something like 8>9 months delivery)… Stood up, walked out and drove away, salesboy that I was dealing with was in tears, less than 10 mins later sales manager phoned me with a much more sensible offer and the deal was then completed. So short answer is kick the **** out of them!

edit:

not literally of course 🤣

Good to know! I think they would be breaking their own t&cs so would be prepared to walk away. But we’ve been waiting so long I’d be upset to have to do this!

"One small step for mankind, one giant leap for myself" if I was to reversely quote Armstrong... :)
Today Skoda-Connect (the web one, not the App) accepted my VIN, car added to the garage, but... Still waiting for the right picture of the car; for now it says "We cannot start the service" and shows a grey silhouette of a Kodiaq.
I immediately
wrote to the dealer and she said the status is not yet "Completed & ready for shipment to RO", so my watch goes on...
BTW - today it's exactly 1 year since I placed the order!

Is the trade-in figure quoted on the original order form noted there as an estimated value or a guaranteed figure without an expiration date? Check the t&c’s very carefully.  I wouldn’t  think the dealer would be foolish enough to commit themselves to a figure more than a year in advance of delivery.

Just to confirm, your not talking about a final value on a PCP arrangement are you? But just a straight forward trade-in.

It’s listed on the order form as:

Total vehicle price £xxxx

less p/x amount -£xxxx

it was initially settling a previous pcp plus a bit extra due to equity. Since we signed the deal it’s now a straight trade in as we’ve settled the original agreement. In the t&cs it states:

You agree the value of the part exchange allowance is based on the Exchange Vehicle's condition, including fitted extras at the: (i)
date of agreement of the Vehicle Order Form; or (ii) date of agreement for purchase of the Exchange Vehicle in accordance with clause 6.2, whichever is applicable, or if the Vehicle has not been inspected, the information provided by you to the Seller prior to that date. If the Exchange Vehicle is not delivered to the Seller in the same condition (fair wear and tear excepted and with a reasonable mileage allowance up to the delivery date) or, when inspected by the Seller is not found to be as described by you, the Seller may make a reasonable deduction from the allowance to cover the cost of any repair required or reduction in value.
6.4 The Exchange Vehicle remains at your risk until actual delivery to the Seller.

I would argue the section in bold would cover us? Obviously they didn’t know it would take this long to get the car but they thought it would be at least 6 months as that what they told us at the time. The car has been maintained appropriately in the meantime with mot, new tyres, no damage etc. mileage for the year has been around 10000 which I feel isn’t excessive?

Gz on the anniversary 🥳

Do keep us informed 😉

@Stillwaitingforoctavia

It does indeed look like the dealer has left themselves with no where to go but pay you what you’ve already agreed with them.

In my experience of ordering vehicles with long lead times the dealer has always clearly marked the part-ex’ price as an estimate only so they have wiggle room for depreciation and market trends.

TBH the dealer shouldn’t be too put out about this anyway as the used market is so strong right now they will have no trouble selling your old car on with a good margin for themselves and still honour your agreement. 👌
