Delivery times?

I can't work out how to update the spreadsheet but ordered a poverty spec 1.5 SE estate in race blue with winter pack a velorum alloys on 8.11.21. It's being delivered direct from Skoda 1.11.22. Quite disappointed I haven't made the exclusive year long wait club! I paid £21.700 for it. They seem to have gone up a bit, like everything else. My first Skoda so interested to see what it's like 👍

It’s not a poverty spec car. Many people never own a new car of any description. I hope you enjoy your first Skoda.

  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

I certainly meant no offence. It's my first new car. And probably my last! I meant it's basic compared to others in the range. 👍 Looking forward to seeing how it compares to my current 16 yr old A3!

Any update is better than nothing I guess :). Have you added any extras on it? My VRS iV still does not have a build date, ordered August ‘21

No options added. Completely standard.

Hmm, I wonder if that means I might be some time soon.  I'm a UK customer (Perth), ordered a race blue IV estate on the 4th of October with tow bar, winter pack, wireless charging and rear camera (which should have been standard IMO), so nothing too fancy.

Forgot to add that mine is a DSG vRS although I've given up trying to look for some logic in what's being built and delivered and what's not depending on the spec. and the extras.  I'm well and truly fed up with the wait!!

Just had an update, my VRS iV Estate has been pushed back to end of Feb 23. Ordered September 2021 via my company car scheme.

I’ve just e mailed the car company to ask if I can source a low mileage second hand car or i think I’ll just cancel my order. A colleague ordered a Golf plug in hybrid and received it in 3 months. I sympathise with the problems car manufacturers are having but Skoda have been appalling.

I called to my local Skoda dealer (collecting something). I saw 6 VRS in the showroom and outside, engines unknown. I didn't see any other other Octavia's, one Superb and two Scala.

Maybe Skoda sent all the VRS to Ireland?

For Israel the Skoda rep. told me to wait until.... June 2023, that's what their contract will say - Mamba green, no Canton / Blind Spot (you can't really spec anything anyways)

Luckily, a showroom car just went available as we were talking, so should be getting it next week - not a penny off though.

Double post, sorry

I would say that the "less than a year long wait" club is more exclusive 😂

In Lithuania I took Kamiq from my dealer (used by the dealer for demo purposes, with 10K km mileage, Dec 2021 first registration), but haven't cancelled my Octavia (currently week5 2023, ordered Sep21) as price is very good from today's perspective for my selected config (I was told that if I order same config today it would be ~3-5K EUR more). Once my Octavia will arrive (and Feb is not yet guaranteed as well), I am planning to sell Kamiq and take the one I ordered. If economic situation will not change, I should not get any big loss, as used car prices are going up every month due to lack of new ones. I visited many other dealers VW, Kia, Hyundai etc. when was considering to cancel my Octavia order and take something that is already available in storage, but all dealers recommended such approach and their clients are acting the same - take something what exists in storage, use it until your order arrives and the sell it and take what you ordered.

P.S. Interesting thing what dealer told me that all cars that are in showcase room are the ones that clients ordered, just waiting for them to complete lease documents, arrange finances etc and to be picked up, so in theory if those clients pick up their cars and new ones will not arrive - showcase can become empty with only one small Fabia left. Dealer is really angry at Skoda HQ. They have no trust in the dates they see in the system, there are even cases when confirmed production dates are moved.

P.S.S. My dealer would be very happy, if I cancel the order and would give my deposit back right away (1K EUR), because they are pretty sure that they will sell my ordered car quickly and much more expensive.

You are right. Out of curiosity, I compared my order as of July 2021 (delivered beginning of this month, October 2022): 1.5 TSI, Ambition, with some minor extras. The price increase for my configuration is 3,500.00 EUR.

And how do you like your new ride, Audrey dear? 😊 I have to admit I love it, or her, I would drive for days if the tank would’t cost me nearly 80 eur… nice and smooth, fast when I need her to be, inside with DSG is 😍. Yep, I’m in love, already forgot about the waiting times 😉 Kessy is also a nice feature, no more looking for keys inside a woman’s bag 😊

A question for those who already have their car:

After a year and half waiting (I ordered the car April 2021) I finally got a factory confirmed production for week 42 (this week), but the week almost went through without any new info. When the dealer told me the „good news” of confirmation 3 weeks ago, he also said that we should see the VIN number by the beginning of the actual production and an engine number after the car was completed. The workdays are over, but still didn't get any news.

Is it normal that I still don’t have any info at the end of the build week?

Of course, I’m a way too impatient now, near the finish line, and after 18 months of this rollercoaster ride. I'm just hoping for a completed production without any missing parts...

😀👍 It's a pleasure to read that you enjoy the ride with your new 4-wheeled love 😃

I like it too, although we only started to get to know each other. 😃 I still need to get used to all the functions. The driving is much softer compared to Fabia (it used to be my dad's car, which I drove for some time).

I'm thinking of upgrading with the rear camera (I didn't think about that when placing the order 🤷‍♀️). It has quite a large rear 😃 and I am a bit unsure when moving backwards, out of the garage, unable to see what is behind.

What experiences do you and others have with/(out) a rear camera?

I was in the same situation as you. In August, a car dealer informed me about the envisaged build date in September, and then in the next call, he confirmed it. He also said the estimated delivery date would be in the 41st week (mid-October).

And the next unexpected call was on 3rd October when he told me I could pick up the car by the end of the week 😃. I received no VIN, nothing prior. And the delivery date was in the 40th week, slightly before planned.

🤞for you to get your 🚗 soon!

You don't have at least rear sensors?

I will share my experience with the cam in a week I hope, if it isn't missing. 🤣

I am also still getting to know her, plenty of functions I don’t even use (like the radar acc) 😊

As for camera - I have front and rear sensors (had the rear ones on my previous cars, front are first for me), and it’s enough.

Hard to tell, my initial build week was in May, but the car was actually built end of March I think and then parked outside until Sept. Not sure what they do now but I read that they are still banking uncompleted cars. I do hope that won’t be the case for you though 🤞

I have rear sensors; they are part of the package/original configuration. They are of assistance with backward driving, and they notify about the objects, but it's not the same as seeing them.

You’re picking it up next week? Yay 🥳

True, if you feel safer with the camera, then you should definitely get it, it is quite a longer car compared to Fabia.

You want to see, what you are about to hit? :) Just joking, I understand, that is why I added the cam to the order, cause I didn't add rear wiper.

Yes, called today and got info that it is already in Slovenia. So now things are moving very fast, because on Monday dealer said 2 weeks for transport. :D

My husband missed 2 stacked tyres when he was reversing last weekend and the car came to an abrupt halt, I guess the assistance pushed the brake instead. I have to say he gets in all sort of strange situations with my car, won’t let him drive much 😉

Rear wiper is part of standard equipment in Slovenia?
