Delivery times?

Featured Replies

It's on the driveway! Order placed beginning of September (2021) and took delivery today. vRS estate petrol manual with my own selection of goodies. Now to sort out the infotainment / phone thing. I spent so long sat on the driveway idling while sorting it out a lady walking her dog passed me the second time and walked to up check I was all right! I have decided to do what all true men won't admit to and read the manual. Luckily we're off for the weekend, so it gets a run-in.

  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

Congratulations! Safe drive and many kilometres/miles 😉 😀. A pic of your new 🚗 would be welcomed 😀...

I am a bit concerned about what is happening with our dear colleague @MaximusMeridius; maybe he has already immersed himself in Octavia's manual and forgot about us to kindly post a pic of his new love 🚗😉😀 or perhaps he is already too focused on a rear cam  😀?

I was on a business trip this week and was unable to pick up the car. Today I did the registration and insurance, so I am picking it up tomorrow after work. I promise I will come back with first impressions and a pic. I don't have the heart to just vanish from here with no info after 15 months of torture we endured together. :D

😀 Great! Enjoy the pickup tomorrow, and have a safe first drive home! We look forward to getting your impressions and a pic, of course, 😀!

Gz, enjoy and many safe miles 👍

I took the manual, read about the brakes and gentle driving at the start, but got lost after (might be because I was reading it in bed instead of trying out things in the car). I guess I don’t know half of what this lady can do 😊 but we still have a lot of time to bond. I was a bit worried how I’d get used to that small switch instead of gearbox, but that should have been the least of my worries 😉

I was about to poke you as well, it seemed it was taking too long already 😉 don’t forget bragging about it here and letting us know if she was worth the wait 😎
Btw, I took a day off for picking it up 😎😊

Don’t forget to update the spreadsheet 😉

Spreadsheet updated, still no signs of the car itself 🤨 I guess it’s too dark to take a picture now 😁

You are right @Ajdolin. I came home late to take pictures. But currently I have this one.20221028_154848.jpg

The car is great. The best part is that it is a DSG. I tried ACC on the highway, cause there was a traffic jam (I could have avoided the jam, but didn't on purpose). It really is more relaxed, when car drives itself. :) The only thing I didn't like is that wireless charging goes on and off for some reason. Rear cam is also great and very useful.

You finally got it and am glad you like it, otherwise it would be a real disaster, 15+ months for nothing 😉

Dsg is really nice, it was actually my husband that suggested I should go for it, and I have to say he was right. Enjoy, many safe kms 🥳

Btw, do you have your phone in a protective case or bumper that might interrupt the charging? I usually keep my phone in my purse or backpack, but do put it there sometimes and yesterday it didn’t charge for some reason. But I do have spigen protection plastic in the back of the phone.

I have nothing on the phone. Will see tomorrow if this is a real problem. Side assist is also helpful and ambient lights give a premium feeling. :)

I don't use the wireless charging anymore. It's just not charging fast enough, especially if you are using your phone for navigation or playing music. Beside this I usually have stuff lying in the middle console and putting a phone under everything, so it can charge, it's always a pain.

I have the lights in blue, and when you open the door, they change to red on that door, my daughter noticed it this morning 😊

You do realise the steering wheel is fitted to the wrong side.

I'd say it's fitted to the correct side since that's what the majority of the world thinks 😂

Same setup as me. I like the blue, but I keep them slightly dimmed.

Integrating the red safety light into the ambient strip was a clever move, I'm sure other brands have done it as well.

Blue is definitely the most ambient for late-night drives. The interior has a premium feel- especially with the black alcantara finish.
2 weeks and 2000 miles in and I still love the car.

As for the correct side Jorgeminator I think I will park that arguement. To the right naturally.

One can tell the preference for the left by the location of dash cam usb socket. the main conrol buttons for the center info screen and the location of the bonnet release. Hood if you are american.

I'm still waiting for my Octavia ordered Feb 22 promised 24 weeks delivery. The increasing number of deliveries on the spreadsheet was good to see but the removal of the PHEV from the current range is a concern for someone waiting for one. I find some of the little tip bits about settings really interesting and I look forward to trying them when I finally get a car.

One thing more - if anyone has have ordered a Mk4 Octavia and not put your details on the spreadsheet please consider it, as it gives us a good data set providing people keep it up to date.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17h4myLSMpZ3dohgDJX25mkOhKLbyepEaeEeYcA3AqFY/edit#gid=0

We have not seen many orders added for August, Seprtember and October.

I hope that those waiting for a car get it soon and those with a new Octavia keep sharing their views and opinions.

I also noticed this happening: removed the phone protection for testing purposes and it still stops&resumes charging every few minutes. I think it's caused by the phone moving around inside the charger tray... Anyway, I found the wireless charging too slow, so I recommend using the cable for the long drives.

Are you happy with the engine revs in "D"? I keep mine in "S" (the gearbox, not the driving mode)...
I sometimes use the ACC, but I find that most of the time the braking is quite late and strong for my taste... That's what I noticed on most of the cars with ACC I drove so far. The driver is anticipating a lot better the traffic flow in front.

What do you mean, D being too slow for you?

It was fine for the 1st day, didn't try the S mode yet. But isn't this basically shortcut to Sport mode?

Some say it is, some say it is not. Could be that it depends of year make of the car or maybe software. In my RS it just changes the gearbox to sport. Everything else changes only with changing the driving mode. Would be nice if this was really a shortcut to the Sport driving mode.

It is day 2 with the car and already found something missing. There is no electric child lock. ****ing Skoda. 🤬
