Possible VCDS tweaks in skoda fabia mkii 5j?

Recommended Posts

Recently I bough a VAG-COM-HEX-V2 interface and was getting to know the VCDS. Though I bough the VAG-COM mainly for diagnosing any issues, I was curious if I can use it enable the stuffs like remote key window rolling up down and needle sweep.

Only problem is (at least what I think) is mine is a pretty old model(2010) which doest support long coding as VCDS doesn't show long coding helper as most of the forum post instructs us to work with long coding I wonder if this is possible at all.

Things which I am planning to do are:

1- Convenience remote control window up and down.

2 - Needle sweep / Celebration when we turn on the ignition.

Any other mods which will be fun is really appreciated:

Posting my VCDS scan details which contains all the module versions which can be useful if someone tries to help me. Thanks in advance.

Ours is 2009, i.e. pre face lift. You do not have that many coding options. Some are the old fashioned version of calculating and adding specific values.

I do not think I coded needle sweep.

The locking is called Auto lock. I think you can set that in the Maxidot....

I use a dustpan and brush to sweep the needles that fall off the tree at Christmas, I have no idea why you'd want to try and program a ten year old car to do it for you.

You must have a lot of time on your hands.

You can get the stereo display to show MPH, if you fancy it! I only found out some while ago and would have had it done from the dealer if I had known!

Are you saying you get a large MPH readout in the Maxidot? What is the coding and what year is yours?

yes you can get a large MPH on the maxidot.

You have to set the vehicle to "rest of world" spec with VCDS or similar and turn off ALT speed disp in maxidot settings.

You then have the option for a digi speedo

I was referring to the stereo or at least, the dance unit. Apparently, the display can have MPH enabled, for driving instructors, etc.

Update :

I guess the 5J platform Fabia have old control units and doesn't even have long coding support  and VCDS doesn't have much info on the bytes and their info.

I was able to do some of the below things.

1- Increase the steering assist from normal to higher level in low speeds

2- Increase the number of convenient turn indicator blinks to 3 blinks to 5.
