thanks for the response. Mine was first registered in November 2007 Temic label on the faulty unit is 440775G/401350A9. 16.07.14 HW002 SW:03xx. Does this help?

Hi Dave, yes that's a standard repair, I'll message you with contact details/address to send etc.

Already been replaced once judging by the 2014 date code. 

Pete, how long would the repair take? I live in Towcester and could drop it off, not a problem for me. I have been quoted over £200 for a 2nd hand one!!!

sent you a message. None of my windows are working. Changed loom in drivers door and  master switch with no joy. Would a faulty drivers door motor stop all the other windows from working?

Got your message, and will reply in a sec. 

The answer is yes, driver's side fault does take out all the others, on the LIN-based versions -  6Y1959801/6Y2959802 and 6Q1959801F/G/H/J

My missus' VRS has stopped working and the PD100 i'm fixing has also just stopped working. My old PD100 used to have 'seasonal electric windows' - i.e. only worked in summer after a dry spell. Is the failing linked to water at all?

Think it's more related to temperature than moisture.

Hello, what year is your Mk1 Fabia, please?

OK so that should be a 6Y2959802 part on driver's side (assuming a RHD vehicle). Is it the original motor module there, as far as you know? Please could you describe what is and isn't working.

The usual problem causes both windows to stop working completely, or intermittently for a while first; but it sounds like you may have something different?

Doesn't happen all the time, from the drivers side... when they both stop working I pull the fuse out, put back in the drivers works but not the 1 touch and passenger doesn't work on the driver side but does from the passenger side

I'll message you at lunchtime with some options.

Hi Pete,

just found this thread as searching for a replacement 6Y1959801 window motor and module for my daughters 57 plate 5 door polo.

Symptoms are as follows.

1. windows non functioning

2. central locking not working off of drivers door lock ( no remote fob withis model)

Also central locking does work from interior button on door card.

Is this combination of symptoms pointing to the motor/module from the drivers door and is it something you can repair.
