Just to be sure, I guess yes but: do you have properly set 2 steps authentication for SFD? Last time I had problems with CU03 for brakes and the issue was that, I do not know why but after the last app update authentication was not able to remember my credentials.

Yes, everything looks fine there.

New wheel isn't covered under warranty. Rest of the car should be unaffected    Ensure you replace the bolt that secures the wheel, and torque it correctly. Also ensure you don't mark/damage

  • Update from my last post. It appears I forgot to add the following changes A5 -> Hc_Variante: 2 A5 -> Klr: Enabled. This one will enable capacitivesensors.   Travel ass

Yes, everything

Mattian, Thanks for making a recap of the coding that needs to be done.  Can you confirm that I only need these or should I make others?  Thank you

That’s a shame to read it only does small bends (coming from a Volvo V60 with the full PilotAssist which would take almost any bend, sometimes without slowing down 😳). Is that the same for both the factory activation and the retro?

But who are you referring to?

Below is my updated situation.

Carrying out a more in-depth test, while driving the car, the travel assist is activated every time I press the TA button on the steering wheel.

As you can see from the infotainment, the three functions marked by the orange arrow return a message "function unavailable".

I made a collage of the photos to make my situation more understandable.

Do you have opinions on this?

Hi @mangio85

Yes yes, mine is working exactly the same now. Weird thing is that I am not able find root cause, sometimes it works sometimes it does not work. Besides the recurrent error B17B8F2 on gateway, I see nothing else that could trigger the malfunction. But that error was there since de beginning, before was working fine but not now ... not sure if the successions of OTA installed is one of the causes.

Nowadays I do not have time to investigate, my first action and the easiest was changing hc_variant ... but you did it already with no success.

I think that there is no other option than doing the A5 firmware update as per 48S5.

Ciao @Mario_Delgado,  My bad infotainment message situation was re-established by changing the following section:

CU5F/Adaptation/Vehicle Function List
BAP/LDW_HCA_Ox19_msg_bus -> can_fas (this is my old value).

Now I would like to understand if travel assist only works with acc and understand why some users see three-lane traffic. I only see one lane on virtual cockpit.

Thanks @mangio85 for the feedback, I will do it a try.

Be aware that Lane Change Assist is a complete different history.

I'm probably wrong, but the person who has this view doesn't have side assist or LCA. I think it's just a new update.

@mangio85, Can you please share 2 aspects:

1. what software version are you running on A5 camera?

2. does you car is equipped with Side Assist/RTA?

Thank you

@djmartzian thanks for your support 💚!

My car doesn't have side assist.  The software installed on the a5 is 3129.

I take this opportunity to ask a further question.  Is it normal not to have the predictive function when approaching curves or turns?  The car does not decelerate.

ciao

@mangio85, I'm now a bit confused. Are the above pictures taken in your car earlier OR their are from someone else?

You must forgive my English, in the message above I wanted to write that another person has this visualization.

Sorry...

For the predictive you think I fix another coding? Thanks!!

Hello!

I have a 2023 Octavia with Lane assist and ACC. Sports package, so sports steering wheel without heating and capacitance.

I want to code Travel assist and use the emulator talked about on here. I don't want to change out the steering wheel or have any notifications about holding the wheel.

Has anyone here used the emulator and not changed their wheel?

There is a couple on aliexpress, idk if they are the right one?

For MQB EVO ID3 ID4 ID6 Golf MK8 Atlas KLR Hands Free Module - this seems like a plug that just emulates hands being on wheel

and

AIDUAUTO KLR MQB_EVO 2Q0 permanent travel assist lane assist off-hand module GOLF 8 Tiguan MK2 Octavia MK4 - this seems to be the KLR module that is just modified. But I think my steering wheel does not have the KLR module to begin with?

That guide is useless for MQB2020 unfortunately & the TSR fec is in the canbus gateway not the radar

Worth checking if TSR is available in the Skoda store

Hi,

Are you saying you CAN activate TSR with official authorization codes? I wanted it to be activated by our local dealer and their reply was that I was the first person asking this question and they cannot see how.

Do you happen to know any company that can do these retrofits in the east midlands?

First off, please note any coding advice you find in this thread may differ drastically from your MQB based Supurb to our MQBevo/MQB2020 Octavia - as noted by @26DIPP.

Regarding TSR activation via authorisation codes (FEC/Function Enabling Codes), Yes you can activate traffic sign recognition with an FEC code. The trouble is obtaining an FEC code.

The easiest way to obtain the FEC is to check if TSR is available for purchase via the Skoda App Store in your car. If it's visible, then purchase it that way.

Failing that, then your dealer should be able to purchase and install the code for you. Unfortunately, dealers tend to either play dumb or genuinely not know how this process works.

Alternatively, @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits might be able to help you out. They might also be able to correct me if I've got something wrong.

Little update from my side on the subject:

After several OTA system updates travel assist started to work in a very weird manner (Again!), not working properly with the dedicated steering wheel button but yes if it was activated via ADAS menu, but having hands-off errors from time to time … so I reverted the BAP/LDW_HCA_Ox19_msg_bus from can_fas to databus extended and installed a KLR hands-off emulator and ... oh boy ! now it works like a charm ! I've done so far 100 km on highway and the permanent hands off works perfectly.

Hello Mario,

How easy is it to remove the steering wheel airbag?

Any hints?

Well, it will depend on your tools and skills with your hands, it's not complicated but tricky. On each side you have to push and twist out the airbag retainer. To do so you need a mirror or your selfie camera on your phone to see where the retainer is and where to push to release. I would recommend you the removal of the upper steering column cover first, so that you gain room to play and, most important, you have zero risk of scratching the plastic cover.

So sad,

I just had a look in my steering wheel if I can fit the KLR Evo. There is no KLR module at all. Mind you I do not have TA in the steering wheel. So I guess they would not have put a dummy holder in there or can the KLR module holder be retrofitted?

Capacitive steering wheel is a requirement, that's a fact.

Hello. I want to buy a steering wheel with capacitive to activate Travel assist but i Have a question before.

Is it possible to have classic lane assist as default (ping pong) and adaptive lane assist on travel assist (with center keeping) ?

I've tested win "point of intervention early" and i have a lot of correction in order to keep the center of the lane. This is useful on highway, but in the city i would like the classic lane assist.

I retrofitted the TA steering wheel. TA works.

Lane assist (SWA) is different from travel assist. It warns if there is an object approaching from behind or next to you.

TA keeps the car in the lane. I have the 2Q0 camera.

Which 3-spoke steering wheels are equipped with capacitive hands-on detection (HOD)? Did someone have list?
