Denso IK16 Iridium (which never worked for me)

Featured Replies

Many years back i had installed these spark plugs, those days were ''before the forum'' or ''before the internet'' as we say here which means i trusted the seller and his guide book.

Indeed the reference from Platinum Champion RC89PYC to Iridium were these Denso,

As for educational purposes an you tell your opinion about them?

I have very little experience with spark plugs but it looks like carbon fouling.

Are those plugs resistor or non-resistor type? Maybe that was something with their internal resistance.

I don't know

"Compared to normal plugs, a 0.5ps (1.4%) improvement is seen in output at 110km/h. Improved Acceleration Increased response and acceleration performance"

Just found this:

resistance is EXTREMELY important if you are using the plug to read the combustion chamber events. Mercedes uses this among others. These systems typically fire the plug and then note the resistance as a measure of combustion, then re-fire as needed.

I don't know if it's true. If so, I don't know if Felly's ECU do this type of measurement.

My Felicia didn't liked at all the Denso, the NGK worked very good but due to the wrong lambda sensor caused my a higher fuel consumption.

I had iridium for many months in a small motorcycle but i had to remove them because i had a problem in the carburetor and turn them to ''black'' and i had rough idling etc.

Do you have any experience with Bosh FR6DC+ ?

It should also be noted that fine wire plugs should be gapped with the correct tool and that even when brand new the gap should be checked.  Also if the vehicle is modified the plug gap may need adjusting to allow for the modifications.

Stick to the car manufacturer recommended parts.

Always tried to use Skoda original plugs in my old girl the ones in now were purchased off Ebay 7 for £10.00 inc p/p ok 7 but I may find the odd one to make up a change when I get round to changing them. Never ever had any problems with S/Plugs.

Old plugs for a old car if its got Skoda on it then its ok by me.
