Coding of Steering Wheel controls

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

I need some help here! Purely from a vanity standpoint, I’ve changed my steering wheel. After installation, the buttons to the left pertaining to multimedia (music, volume, skip tracks etc) are working fine. However I noticed that some of the buttons on the right do not work.

I need advice on coding 2 of the buttons to the right hand side of the steering wheel to reactivate:

1. Changing of digital cockpit views

2. Menu that list down the various vehicle optionality (e.g., Vehicle status, oil temp, reset trip counter etc)

Can anyone help?

Thank you for advising! I’ve assessed the link and translated into English. It appears to be hefty work! 😪

I also changed the steering wheel to a 2020 Ss3. And I installed this module and all the buttons work. But the first time the steering wheel must be coded on the car without this module. then the module is installed.

The new facelift steering wheel looks nice.

Update:

1. Steering controls - this was resolved through a LIN convertor which allow buttons to be programmed.

2. Drive select and start/stop button - I installed this and it is working well. Purchase link included here. There’s 11.11 sale. Great deal!

Can you guys give us an update about which steering wheel and air bag you have installed?

I want to retrofit my steering wheel in my Super 2019 FL, but I'm not sure which parts I should buy. OEM numbers of the steering wheel/air bag should match?

My steering wheel is like on quoted image on the left, without heating, and I would like to retrofit the one with heating. Is it possible?

Apart from LIN converter do I need something else?

Thanks! ;)

from here I got the mod. I took the full one. not the basic one. the full one is better. but you can write them an email and tell them what it's about, it would help you.

So, the monster lives! 😜

Successfully using the MFL (multifunction steering wheel) at the table today. Here's the configuration:

The new MFL buttons (sub 19)

Gateway (19)

Multimedia System (5F)

Steering column control unit (16)

"Analog" speedometer (17)

Coding, adaptation, and data set creation were all done, of course.

The starting point was a Conti 3Q0907530C as hardware and AA as software.

Cairus, did you manage to code the newer steering wheel buttons or do you need an additional module that remaps the buttons?

Can you describe more details for the adaptation and coding of the steering wheel buttons?

So, a minor setback...

The menu selection in the on-board computer isn't working in the car.

Who or what is to blame, those damn Skoda developers or someone else...?

Skoda decided to have the menu scroll from top to bottom. That's precisely the problem.

The signal from the new steering wheel is left or right.

That's why my setup with the Seat instrument cluster worked; menu selection works left or right...

I'll keep you posted.

Something is not clear to me, karoq 2018 uses an older type of steering wheel, karoq 2020 uses a newer type of steering wheel. Is the problem in the module type (different letters) or just the coding?

Mib2-2.5 have old steering wheel

Mib3 - new steering wheel and new VC

At least for Superb 3, I guess same for Karoq
