My first suggestion would be to try new cables as they can be notoriously bad.

Without checking your actual software train value, can never be 100% sure.

But odds are high that your software train is MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0478T

Available is MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0480T so a minor bump.

If it was working before and stable, and is now become hard to connect, then it's either cable as @john999boy mentions or the physical USB port has failure (bent pins or such)

I will send you the firmware, but this does seem more of a physical fault with the acual USB socket (there is a TPI document so VAG are aware)

My car USB is dodge, always disconnects

I would agree with this. Having gone through a few usb leads I noticed the socket is very loose. If I make sure the plug is centred everything works fine. If not, its hit and miss.

Do you know the TPI reference and/or fix? My car is in for a service in a couple of weeks so I will raise it, if its worthwhile.

It's an Audi document, and it's mainly pointing a finger at customer.  They do mention that they are going to design a better socket.

Odds are this applies to Skoda as well, might be separate document.

Take this TPI mainly as a guideline only.

Thanks. Mine's not damaged, just loose. I'll stick with ensuring the plug is in straight
