It would be simply clever...

...to sell cars with car adverts rather than cod dog agility show adverts.

The advert caught your attention and you know which car was in the advert since you posted in the Kamiq section,

so if you were on the market to buy a car it might stick in your mind, you might even research them.

Maybe Skoda have to try harder and attract new buyers, dog owners or those interested in dogging.

3 years ago this one had people posting on Social Media as well.

Always include a dog, they appeal to older people.....

Its been 30 years since any car advert informed anything about the car, they are either aspirational lifestyle memes (not any lifestyle I would aspire to mind, I would rather slit my throat) or just completely wacko but intending to make the car look cool.

It all started with Renault and Nicole and has gone downhill ever since.

The worst one ever for me was the group of teenagers in a Corsa I think but might be wrong, the entire advert showed them cruising around unfeasibly deserted urban streets staring at the infotainment screen sending and recieveing text messages to and from other idiots driving other connected Corsas.

Oh for the days of Woofter Wollard telling us that the gearlever falls nicely to hand 😆

If they could have had the car as a Wi-fi hub they would have.

Trust me, a company as huge as VAG (Skoda) would have hired the best of the best Marketing/Media

/Advertising companies to come up with the ideas to advertise their product.  We aren’t talking about spotty college students who are studying media at college, we are talking multi million pound companies who specialise in advertising.

So, whilst you see what you see, there will be a marketing reason why they chose the format they did to advertise the Kamiq, and I’ll bet you my house that it works in terms of sales for the thousands/millions who the advert subliminally influences.

The huge company that are VW Group are needing to be able to have Skoda UK selling more cars, but as it is people want to buy but can not get them actually delivered any time soon.

2021 Skoda delivered only 55,800 cars with all their models in the UK.

Vauxhall sold 40,914 of just Corsas. Tesla 34,783 Model 3.   VW sold 60,000 Polo & Golfs in the UK.

Huge budget for advertising and they need to get to the right audience.

The Kamiq is Skoda's 2nd best selling car worlwide now, but 120,700 in 2021 is not very many.

skoda sales aren't droppig because of advertising budget its because the value is no longer in them as new cars - pricing over here is getting pretty close to vw / audi money for similar platformed cars, and people will buy the based spec "premium brand" if there isnt much extra outlay for a perceived better quality vehicle (badge snobbery)

Comparing the allowing for inflation price I paid for a new Fabia in 2005 with a similar spec Fabia now against the same comparison for a Polo shows that the 'no brainer' choice is no longer the Fabia.

Motability that is the biggest group buyer in the UK are able to offer Skodas at lower advance price  for Medium Size Car automatics.  Fabia, Kamiq & Scala.

There are a few others from Seat, Toyota & Hyundai.

As long as they are able to get these 1.0 lire engine cars delivered then that bumps up their first registrations.

The manufacturers need to get these first registered as they struggle to have the Average C02 emissions in 2022.

Skoda problem is they have no got enough models that are mild hybrids.

This really surprised me.  I know they're three years apart, but my GTI is a nicer place to be than my vRS was, in my opinion.  The GTI was forecourt'd at £1,600 less than the vRS I'd bought three years earlier.  I did look at a new vRS at the time (basic spec IIRC), but felt the GTI was better overall.  I can't remember what the price comparisons were at the time betwixt the two.
