Rear drum brakes are always one leading and one trailing shoe so reverse gear was not a necessity, for stuck front drum brakes it would definitely be.

Because front drums were usually twin leading shoe for extra braking assistance.

i had a problem with the shift lever (too loose and after shift engage was trembling a bit) especially in 3rd gear, after engage often in high rpm i was hearing a ''gzzzz" sound.

I bought and i ask from the mechanic to install this

and the Rear Gearshift Bush

both from a Cz store and the problem solved, the gear shift changes are more ''robust'' and no sound.

Good info.

I can do the rest.

Indeed, there was never a need for servo assisted brakes until front disc brakes became common, twin leading shoe drum brakes are self servo assisted!

not quite they just have a tendancy to jack and abruptly lock up due to the twisting of the brake shoes yes that is self assisting, but not assisting you in modulating brake pressure

That is why new shoes have a chamfer on the leading edge and a good mechanic will recreate this before refitting worn ones, the self assistance I mentioned is the raison d'être of leading brake shoes and it is a historic fact that brake servos became commonplace with the introduction of front disc brakes.

The leading shoe movement is a force multiplier in exactly the same linear fashion that a vacuum brake servo is. I never said that the leading shoe system increases brake line pressure, it does not need to.

We make chamferr on brake pads as well, not only shoes.
AND on pads, new and used pads, that go back on during a "refurbish", we cut 2-3 incisions with angle ginder disc.

I mentioned her suspicion, because its not sure she wants to fix this car. Unfortunatelly. But its always difficult with old cars and with owners who dont have the money. "If I pay all this money to fix this, can you promise me nothing else needs to be fixed!" Also, she seems to have problem making her mind up 😃
And we already have 5 cars here we are supposed to fix in order and sell.

I am always thankfull for the forums and communities that share with each other.

This is what I ordered some 5-6 years ago for a 1996 1.6 Felicia that was owned by an other customer: https://allegro.pl/oferta/przegub-drazka-zmian-biegow-skoda-felicia-felicja-14062520423
The linkage attachment to gearbox was an other model than on later models, if I remember correct.

Oh yes, VIKA and their Chinese $hitty rubber quality and cheap steel. That part of the gear linkage was used on cars before October 1996 according to ETKA.

Jup! The steel was ****E! It is welded together now.....
I was just huppy to be able to find anything at that time - because VAG was NO help, what sooo ever 😃
And thats what was on that car. From 1996.
The gear linkage feels the same on 1996 and 2001 cars how ever.

@Orchid70 Just out of curiosity, can you guesstimate how many Skoda Felicias are in Sweden? Are they fit with Webasto from the factory?
