Yes, the fusebox on the end of the dashboard. Good, the battery light should come on and then go off as the engine starts. There's a common wiring fault, especially on the diesels where there's m

Try to get (and post) a nice, sharply-focussed photo of the strip fuses in the holder above the battery. Sometimes a near-invisible hairline crack in the power steering one can give such symptoms.

I've been doing a bit of playing about this morning 1st  thing there was way to much fluid in the power stearing so I've syringed it out, 2nd thing  light is still on but I noticed if I start engine straight away light is on but if I turn the key wait for light to go out then start it light stays off  I've tried this several times and always the same outcome.

Thanks Natalie; I've added "check PAS fluid level within limits" to my list of "cheap and easy checks".

Nevermind it's 110 😅 I wish I had become a mechanic when I left school I guess it's never too late to learn 🙃

Yes, that second one is 110A, which covers the while interior and its fusebox.

Power steering one next to it in position 3 should be 50A, then the last ones with the dodgy fuses should both be 40A. I would leave the one for the fans (thinner red/black wire) as-is, but change the right-most one with the red/green wire for a 'legit' 40A one. That's the ABS pump fuse.

Clean contact surfaces before fitting new fuses, ideally.

I've changed all fusses and cleaned, all lights still on though power steering is only coming on now when I start the engine if I wait for the light to go out when I put the key in then start it stay off.

I don't think so; you're wasting your time with that garage though.

There's a few round here that are the same I live in a small town so I guess they get busy and don't need the work so can't be bothered or just don't know how to fix it. I don't know but it's frustrating. I really would like to keep the car running. I'm not giving up yet.

I can't promise to fix everything, but I bet we could understand what needs doing pretty quickly. Might be as simple as a bad connection between alternator and battery. Or the engine earth connection being a bit corroded.

Do you have a multimeter? Or know someone that could lend you one? Could maybe do some measurements that would tell a story.

I have a multimeter. I could do with getting my self some ramps to cause I'm guessing at some point I'm going to need to get under  the car😀

Probably don't need to lift the car for the measurements I'm thinking of.  👍

I'll have a think and post more tomorrow.

I've encountered a few who don't seem to want to deal with a woman and practically laugh in my face or try to rip me off.

I don't see what being male has to do with anything 🙂

Serious answer; I won't get the same sort of experience of sexism as you will.

Might be the actual front left (nearside) sensor, or possibly a broken wire or corroded connection in the loom plug,  Worth checking wiring near connector, and visual impression of connector contacts before spending on a replacement sensor, if poss.

The ABS code I would be suspicious of relating to the blade fuse that the thinner red/green wire is going to (25Amp one?) or damage to that wire between there and ABS module. Unplugging connector from ABS module, and measuring voltage at the relevant connection would be ideal. Will give pin number later.
