Quietest Karoq?

Some are, choose wisely.

Official db reading for something like the Cross Climate 2's suggest it's not any quieter than most summer tyres but read the reviews. It's exceptionally quiet on poorer surfaces.

I don't really like the aggressive v pattern tyres tbh, any suggestions for the conventional pattern?

They are hardly aggressive, just really rather effective as All Season tyres and even work well on wet roads & not a hit on the fuel economy.

These are aggressive yet quiet and not causing less efficiency.

I find they seem to wear a lot quicker, especially on the edges. What sort of miles are you getting out of the fronts?

@Blue8793841  Have you actually had Crossclimate, Crossclimate + or CrossClimate 2 or SUV,s and had wear?

Maybe look in the tyre section, there are plenty threads covering all of these Crossclimate types.

There are quite a few posts on here in the various forums where owners have changed from Bridgestone tyres to cross climate tyres and have remarked the ride is better and quieter, so it would appear so.

Just what I have noticed over the years on customers vehicles.

I will be changing to Cross Climates on my Karoq, I really liked them in my previous car, was on my third set, used to get 30,000 miles per set, which I felt was pretty good and road holding and grip was excellent.

Had Cross Climate on my Octavia (before the engine went), the Yeti and Cross Climate 2 on my Karoq. Great tyres as far as I am concerned.

Depends on the temperature, but at UK temperatures generally yes.

And this year with temperatures rarely getting above 20c, could have comfortably kept euro winter tyres on which tend to be quieter still.

Our old Yeti was crashy and loud on Michelin Primacy's but they were getting on for 5 years old.

Cross Climate 2's transformed the ride and road noise. I'll be fitting out the Karoq next year.

Provided they do the job well, I wouldn't worry about how the tread pattern looks. Go for function over looks.

I had Michelin Primacy tyres on my mk3 Octavia for a similar period and they were fine up to the last 20k km where noise and ride gradually deteriorated to a point where I suspected possible suspension issues.

New Continental tyres rectified the road noise and ride issues completely. Unfortunately, I got a screw puncture shortly after purchase and I think I can hear the plug repair's effects on smooth tarmac.

The car came new with Dunlop Sportsmaxx and I found them surprisingly good for their whole life (only 40, 000 km though) which is contrary to most other's reports of the tyre. Sportsmaxx are expensive here in Aus though, and have a short life compared to contemporary lower priced first tier options.

Interesting thanks - I didn't know that. I assume that would involve fitting a new steering wheel stalk to allow for the different ACC functions over standard CC. Does anyone know what else is needed? I guess that's the kind of function that might be built into the standard engine management system but not activated as standard, or not. I'll ask my local Skoda garage service department, see if they do a sharp intake of breath...

I was quoted £680 for retrofit ACC on my Octavia this year, which I felt was too expensive so I declined.
