Hi, as per many others, left side of 2017 Amundsen touchscreen has stopped working. Car is still under Skoda used car warranty.

 

Is it covered, should I have to pay a diagnosis charge to get them to confirm the obvious and order a replacement?

For what it's worth, our Dec 2017's screen's touchyness went on the left side a couple of months ago.

I have an aftermarket warranty but that looked unclear on the stereo, a repairer wanted £200 plus sending the whole unit to them.

 

So, using the advice on here, I bought a new screen digitizer for £26 and a couple of the right screwdriver type for another £5 and fitted myself after watching a good YouTube video. The only thing I did wrong was not quite seat the SD card reader board into its slot the first time. Otherwise, easy to do.

Mine went a month ago, Feb,2016 touchscreen.  Can you say where to get the digitizer from and item ref # in case there are different versions.  I'm in Ireland so its not quite straightforward on ordering. Thanks.

OK one on its way, import duty and postage cost me £20, but its a lot cheaper than the alternative !!

There is one really good YouTube video of the Vw branded head unit which I found the best because you could freeze it step by step because he explained each stage.

Waiting to hear what the Warranty people come up with as they say it's now out of production, so they need to find a different solution..

As an update, the Amundsen was replaced under the Skoda used car warranty.. Sadly after the replacement was fitted the reversing camera did not work, so still chasing the dealer to get that coded and working again.
