Has anyone experienced any malfunctions with their 2025 Skoda Superb?

Featured Replies

Has anyone encountered any software, malfunctions, collision prevention, sos, battery, etc. problems in the 2025 Skoda Superb models?

There are so many complaints etc. written about the models of 2024 that I cannot buy a new vehicle because I am afraid. I would be very happy if everyone who reads it could please inform me about the situation. Unfortunately, the price continues to increase in our country unless we can buy it.

Please write the facts. If the faults have been fixed, write that they have been fixed, if some faults still continue from time to time, write them in detail. Thank you very much in advance for those who will help. Best regards.

  • Yes it was a software update concerning charging the battery , at first it was in for a day , however they called to say they have experience issues with other cars and would like to rebook for a coup

  • Are there anymore these driving modes: eco, normal, sport in these MK4 Superbs, which affects throttle response and shifting patterns? I dont mean the DCC damper modes.

  • Hmm, this isn't going brilliantly. Started the car this morning - Bong!!! "Travel Assist unavailable"... "Front Assist unavailable"... "Proactive occupant protection system restricted"... "Emergency A

I have a model year 2025 picked up at the end of December. So far none of the critical issues other people have reported on earlier cars.

I do have some minor issues:

o Condensation in the front camera on some cold mornings. As a result the assistance features don’t work for about 10 minutes until the camera clears.

o Door mirror auto dip sometimes fails to return to the normal position. You can use the controls to reset it. It happens every few weeks. Most of the time it’s fine.

o Creaking noise from the B drivers door. Partly fixed by the dealer. It’s much quieter but still there.

So the major issues seem to be fixed from my experience.

I really thank you very much. When people complain and ask for information about the situation, they do not even answer.

I present my respect and love to you for sharing your experiences. Thank you very much. I wish you to use it in good health.

Hi Cedwing, thanks for sharing these. The creaking sound you mentioned is also present in my car and it's driving me crazy, but I still can't identify the exact source. Do you know what the solution was?

The dealer told me they “lubricated the door seal”.

Had my Superb SEL for 8 weeks and it has an issue with something draining the battery to the point it won't start, just flashes a lot of error messages on dash, called skoda assist on Friday morning, they got the car running and referred me to the dealer for a full diagnosis, car was fine rest of Friday, it sat all day yesterday and battery is flat again.

Hello, is your vehicle a 2024 model year?

Could the battery be dead because it was one of those vehicles that sat at the dealership for a long time without working?

New cars sat Bunkered for months awaiting WLTP Certification & not allowed to be exported back in 2018, and again thousands and thousands during the Covid Years as they could not be transported around countries in the EU / Europe-UK.

Long times at a dealership should never be an excuse for the cars that are delivered to customers not fit for purpose and not reliable and which causes grief and expense to them.

My Superb was new in September 2024. It has covered 6,000 miles and had been 'Superb' untill a few weeks ago. One Saturday morning I was unable to start the car. The dash lights came on and yet non start. I checked the brake pedal was firmly pressed etc, all doors shut and the usual. This continued over 30 mins or so and still wouldnt start so I phones Skoda Assist. They said they would send some one out in an hour. I kept trying th3e car and eventually it started so I cancelled the Assist. THe car continued to behave and start every time the button was pressed for the next few days. When it happened again I booked the car into the dealer and arranged a date - inbetween this time it happend again. It turns out my car was suffering from some software issue that requried a download to fix. The additional problem with my car was the fact the car would not accept the download and needed a new front camera. Once replaced, the download was accepted and so far, the Superb is Superb again. I can not fault the dealership in any way however, Skoda UK Customer care (who are in South Affrica) leave a lot to be desired. I finally managed to get hold of some one in the Executive office here in the UK and I am back in love with Skoda again.

Yes it's a 24 model, battery flat this morning and had to call Skoda assist again, starts fine with a jump start, although this time constant warnings about the 12v system faulty, waiting on a hire car being sorted so I can leave it at the dealers for investigation.

I was told this download will cure one or all three symptoms. They are :- Battery Discahrge very quickly, Non Start, or the assistance mde for things line lane assist etc will not work.

Superb Sportline Estate PHEV registered Jan 25. I purchased as ex demo end May. 5000miles. So far 12v battery failed and AA call out unable to charge it. One week in garage. No problem found. Then charging cable locked in and cannot remove for two hours. Now OK. Then main battery not accepting any charge at all so just running on petrol.

What next we ask!!

Anyone else had this selection of electrical problems?

Due to have June software update installed on Friday. Did not expect to be Beta testing for Skoda.

Superb SEL 1.5 PHEV - Delivered 18th December, Currently on 21000 miles and has been a problem child unfortunately

Went to the Dealer 30th May for a bad vibration under deceleration, Failed rear engine mount. Always on back order, failed to install 1st time round and had to order parts again. Have to wait on special tooling.

Meant to have received the car back today but 0 communication from the dealership.

Throws up random fault codes (Sensor related). Car will go into neutral at times when setting off from junctions. Very jerky when taking up drive... All in all not been the best experience.

Also maps on the digital drivers cockpit still not working from my understanding unless the latest software update that is causing other issues resolves this.

It's a lovely car when it works/isn't with the dealer. Just a shame it's full of software issues and a strange failed engine mount and multiple failed attempts at fixing it so far.

Software update for the map loading (and other issues) should now be available. Had mine updated a week or so back.

Is this software update just for PHEVs or all types?

Had my ACC fail in June. Dealer replaced control stalk and loaded 36 updates. Now have map working in virtual cockpit. Very pleased with car. Like the tug from seat belt on setting off. Do not like the emergency brake assist. . L&K PHEV estate.

Mine is diesel so presumably for all.

Not that human beings cannot bugger everything up themselves .......

We now have tech and software and AI helping us to bugger everything up at a faster rate ....... devil

All programmed by human beings of course, Lol.

Had software update a week ago. Since then main battery not charging. Dealer tells me that this is not the only Superb PHEV that they are having trouble with.

Apart from my ACC failing which seems to be a common problem with the late 2024 models I have nothing but praise for mine. Safety features such as overspeed warning and emergency braking are annoying but they are a legal requirement. Physical buttons and switches are better than on screen menus and they are put in logical positions for driver use

Mine was produced in June 2025. Two things that popped so far:

  • driver's massage seat does not inflate all coushins - dealer confirmed it's a software issue 🙃

  • sporadic driver assistance errors - happened twice but it seems common among other owners. Although it did happen after the car was running for hours. They did clear on their own...

Based on my preliminary research, I expected worst experience but still purchased the car. Hopefully they'll get addressed, but in reality, the facelift would be butter smooth imo.

Mine was May/June 2025 and no issues besides noisy DCC like assistance errors.

ACC lever is probably already factory fixed with current batch of parts.

@revellski which elements does not inflate exactly? If they are the lower ones, does it affect adjustable lumbar support cushions?

I wonder if it is really software issue and lumbar works but during the massage it is faulty only?

@JackP there's a pair of cushions in 2 columns (3 rows) at the back rest. The whole left column does not activate during massage. The lumbar supports are not affected by this. Mind you, mine is LHD if it matters. The passenger seat is flawless.

The dealer stripped the seat, checked all connections, ran diagnostics (hopefully). They did confirm that it's a known issue by manufacturer, it's a software bug and it will get patched over the air.

I have the 1.5 SEL superb ( ordered last year and delivered at the end of december) The cars been running fine but In July the dealership asked tfor the car tobe returned the due to a software issue . Its now been in the garage for 7 weeks , they have admitted they are at a loss as to how to rectify the issue and are waiting for specialist technicians to dial into the car to see if they can sort it out . Hopefully can get the car back soon but not too confident !

Did you notice any issues with the car prior the recall?
