Battery state and data

Featured Replies

On Monday morning, after a night at a temperature of around 4 degrees Celsius, I read the battery data in Carista [see attached photo]. I would be grateful for help in interpreting them in the context of immediate battery replacement or the possibility of waiting until the autumn-winter season. The car starts and drives normally regardless of the outside temperature. I don't know if it is related to the battery, but for a few days I have noticed that at low temperatures the central locking does not close the rear doors on the driver's side. Opening works normally. To close them, you have to press the close and open buttons on the remote control several times. Could it be related to the battery? Thank you in advance for any advice and tips.

Well, certainly is not at its top condition, so expect a failure at some point.

Since it is still cold where you are, maybe it can survive the summer, if we get one at all 😁

The locks... yes, it can be an electricity problem, certainly.

As @leolito said, ti may probably survive the summer, but be prepared to change it when fall will come. With our modern car with all these electronics equipment, a battery failure can be that sudden. One day it's as every former days and the next, it's like christmas tree on your dashboard and very hard to start, or... You won't be able to start at all without external power assistance... Of course, Mr 'Murphy' will make this happen when it's the most annoying for you... 😉

I faced that on my former Superb Mk2. Thus I replaced the battery of my Superb Mk3 preventively.

I have also experienced problems in the most infavourable situations, and this also change the battery at the first sign of impending failure.

The "bother" to loss a day, week, or month of "battery usage" by extending its agony, seldom exceeds the "bother" to have at minimum carry around cables, and as we all have experienced at some point, find ourselves in trouble when least practical...

As to force the test: take a tester, measure battery, watch it as it cranks and starts the engine, then load it up with A/C, lights and some other heavy consumer. If it drops notceably or oscillates, its ability is compromised ...
