Use an sd card or it wont work then you have to update the module or you will have a version mis match and an error code

I'm trying to update the software on my daughter's 2015 Scout with Amundsen MiB1 stereo currently on version 0435 to version 0490 which I believe is the latest available version prior to getting it hooked up to a VCDS and enabling the surround sound and virtual bass features.

Would some kind person be able to send me a download link for the 0490 which I believe is MSTD_EU_SK_P6230?

Looks like @pab567 has been incredibly helpful with this previously

@pab567 Could you possbily help me upgrade my 2015 octavia head unit, not sure which ones I can replace and if they're plug and play. Looking for apple car play really. I can't send you a PM for some reason. Would be greatly appreciated.

You need to establish exactly which model HU you have and version/ long click the MENU for about 10S and go to the details for software versions.
They are very specific updates.
Its possible you may be mismatching with the one here.

Funnily enough I've just been checking my 2nd Octavia mk3 and it has the same EXACT part number and stereo as here so I will be repeating this update on this one as that is stock on 435 !
Since he long went on about the L+K being "top of the range" upmarket from my vRS etc ( or that is how it was sold him) quelle surprise - exact same stereo lol.
Thought it might have been a columbus or MIB2 but nope, its the same.
I offered to check and update for my dad originally but he wasn't bothered and here we are, now I have to think about repeating this myself !

Found I still have a copy of this on my desktop

Sorry mate, this went completely over my head? I was asking about removing and upgrading my Mib1 to a mib 2.

I have a canton in l&k. Seems like the amps are very expensive

The problem is your Canton sound system. An MIB2 unit no longer controls your amplifier. You either need to replace the amplifier as well, or find someone who can make the MIB2 compatible with your amplifier.

Yeahs that’s what I means. Doesn’t seems to be a lot of mib 2 canton amps around

Ah you should have probably posted your own new question then, I as the original OP posted my own point here about upgrading the firmware of a specific HU
If this is something OT then probably best to take it OT to a new thread ;)
