myskoda app, down again?

Featured Replies

Changed the socket feeding my granny cable (Octavia IV).
Wanted to see if it was charging.

Open the app...

It really is hopeless.

Been using mine Friday, over the weekend and today without any issues.

The last updated bit is telling you when you last opened the app and connected to your car with it.

Check that your car has connection, a little globe icon should be white. If it does not (icon is grey), switch off ignition and pull fuse 19 for a minute.

Quite right @Edela - globe is showing grayed out (and has red cross over it?). Thanks.

Pulling fuses sounds drastic - surely there must be an easier way - unless the fuse has blown?

Idk, I'm used to hard reboot module if it looses connection. Just make sure ignition is off. If manipulating settings helps without rebooting hardware, then that's even better.

Before you start pulling fuses make sure you rule out more simple explanations first.

Make sure the connection icon stays greyed out after having the car started for anything up to a minute or so.... Sometimes for reasons unknown it can take a little while for the logo to go white. If it stays greyed out make sure it stays greyed out after moving some distance away from where it has been parked. VAG use the Vodafone mobile network in the UK so it could be that your home is in a Vodafone blackspot or poor coverage area and your car is struggling to get a stable Vodafone signal to work with. (Depending on if you live in a rural or urban area can mean you may have to drive further to confirm the poor signal issue).

Tks - taking each point.

The car was driven 8 miles.

I'm on Vodafone and get a good signal.

Oddity (and background)

Changing the granny plug over, the car ran down the big battery to red - 20%.

[ does this affect the 12V battery? ]

Oddity: try and set up a plan (don't ask)

Save and activate....#

"Battery protection limit reached.

Skoda connect services are now disabled (Thanks Skoda)

The 12V limit for remote services has been reached etc

Intimates that my battery is low?

Measured at 12.3V... yes, a bit low.

I've heard of all electric cars flattening the 12V battery. Not on a hybrid?

Has anyone else been having trouble sending a route from the app to the car?

Ah that's OK then..... Just wanted to rule out the basics before pulling fuses etc.....

Another silly question but you do have the eSIM turned on in the car's settings on the Infotainment don't you and not set to be running off your wifi at home?

Re: battery..... One of the options in the app is to stop it waking up the car unless you tell it to. Could it be worth you turning this option on/off (I can't remember if it's set to auto wake the car as default or not).

I last used it a few weeks ago and it worked fine then but not used it recently.

I've not seen that - clue to where to find it please?

As per the two attached images…..

I also edited my last post possibly just after you replied to it… But in that edit I was just also checking that you had got the eSIM turned on in the car which is done via the settings on the Infotainment screen in the car. I’m sure you can have it set to use a WiFi hotspot/home WiFi rather than the car’s own eSIM which could also be another reason your connection icon isn't activating.

Not sure which is 'server' in wifi setup, my router or the car?
Yes, have checked it, and left it using the esim.

AFAIK the 'vehicle wakeup' is (when on) set to connect (or try to)

when the app is woken?

I'm starting to favour the car 'thinking' 12.3V is too low for the connection

to the app.
