OIL LIGHTS COMES ON BUT I HAVE 5L OF OIL IN THE CAR

Featured Replies

Hi so recently I went for a oil service few days before I had put 1l of oil in as it came up as low oil so I got the service done 5l of oil all done and it took a fair few tries before the oil came up on the dip stick now 500 miles after the service light comes up and it shows oil low on the dipstick yet after putting 1l in no light so far and iv done about 400 miles so ov been told it could be the oil pump or oil pressure sensor has anyone had any of these problems or failures before?

@Nab93 Is this the 2.0 TDI?

Did you see 5 litres of oil going in or is that just what you were asked to pay for?

IF YOU OPEN THE BONNET AND DO NOTHING THE LOW OIL WARNING LIGHT /MESSAGE CAN GO OUT FOR 100 MILES.

What do you mean about a fair few times before the oil came up on the dip stick.

Is it where it should be high up the stick when dipped cold.

& checked correctly at Normal Operating Temp (Hot) an indicated 90*oC up in Area A on the Dip Stick?

OP had mentioned oil consumption issues on other threads @Nab93 you need to get your car professionally checked out at over 200k and taxi the car has a hard life. Or you continue to top up oil excessively, which will no doubt cost a lot

2l diesel and crlb engine mechanics around my areas sending me on a goose chase here that's another problem one says change engine without any investigation and the only company that used to do engine work have shut

Your engine does sound gubbed.

If it is a Taxi so a working tool the Oil is an Overhead is it not.

With the way you use it then you might as well bulk buy cheap VW 507 00 spec oil IMO.

Or get another vehicle. What is the fuel consumption like, and the emissions?

Other than oil is it cheap to run?

Does your car have Adblu? If it does then wipe your finger inside the exhaust tip, there should hardly be anything on your finger

If your finger is black as hell then you’ve got black smoke coming out which could be a number of things but should set you on the right path, you may not even notice it whilst driving which is why the finger test is good

If you’ve not got adblu then that procedure might not work

It's okay fuel wise it's just the oil problem I have but been told it might be due to a oil pump failure
