Northern Ireland - Any recommendations for where to have Instrument Cluster Repaired/Replaced with full Cluster Cloning included

Featured Replies

...thanks. Cost would need to be reasonable and so a dealership repair might not be possible.

Various lights coming on on dash when they shouldn't. No corresponding mechanical issues found.

Ideally near Ballymena or surrounding area.

Also, have been told that a new battery indicator is needed and that it is a separate part from new cluster control......is it a separate part?

Anything else to consider?

...too late to edit again. Should read:

Have you checked the battery state of charge at the battery terminals?

ETA: Checked as many hours as possible after the engine has been run and/or battery charged.

Plus has a scan tool been used to confirm there are no error codes?

Have there been any other issues?

Car had been sitting a few weeks with no one driving and the resulting flat battery was charged. Latest problem began after that. Battery was checked, including terminals, and ok. Previous issues (on and off over years), with dashboard warnings/indications coming on when headlights switched on. No mechanical issues found for those either.

It's had diagnostics run, as latest light resulted in a recovery to dealer, and this is their indication.

So previously turning the headlights on brought up all sorts of warnings.

Depends on the lengths and quality of the diagnostics - they may be correct or parts cannon firing off. A good conscientious diagnostics auto-electrician may find differently or more or he may not. Your local Dealership might be different but I'd not trust our local Dealership to be too thorough with diagnostics. A place that deals with motorsport cars can sometimes be better with sorting things.

Cluster repair, cloning, is possibly dealt with more in the 'Fabia Projects' and 'Performance & Tuning Upgrades' forums, you could have a look, how much relates to NI I've no idea.

Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions.

If you havent already remove cluster and clean connections/make sure its seated properly. Had same on my octavia. Weird warning lights but no codes. DPF light (no dpf) Blown bulb but all ok. Few others that were very dim including EML plus foglight symbol on all the time when lights on but fog lights off. Cleaned cluster connection and refitted and it was spot on. Reckon it either came loose or got some dampness into connector. Remember to disconnect battery before removing cluster. Could also be a bad earth somewhere thats causing low voltage?Check the cluster for dry solder joints or moisture damage.
