Repeated daily Infotainment update issues

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Anyone else getting repeat Infotainment updates that don't appear to be installing, I'm getting this problem on my 2024 Superbs Infotainment unit nearly every day, when I look on the Information tab I can see the updates and when it says they're installed, and a prompt to say the installation will be active the next time the car is started, so all looks correct.

But literally the next day I'll get another message on the screen to say updates are available and ready to install, and the same process has repeated itself for about 2 weeks now.

I've looked on the Net and it looks like its a Skoda issue over all the ranges but there doesn't seem to a resolution.

Has anyone else had this? If so have you got it sorted or is it a trip to the dealer?

Cheers

Hello,

Yes, I'm also experiencing this on my 2021 Superb MK3 FL, doesn't prevent me from using the car so I'm not planning to take it to the dealer before my next scheduled maintenance though.

We get this on our 21 FL Kodiaq. You can manually download and install the updates but I haven't bothered to so far as I don't have a USB to USB C adaptor.

I was having this problem too and then a couple of days ago I pressed the button for more info and nothing came up, but the update screen hasn't reappeared since.

I've no idea if this has stopped it coming up or if Skoda have sorted it out now. At least my maps are up to date with version 05.26.

Hi, how can you see what maps version you have? I take it thats an automatic update as well?

I also had/have this problem and pressed "More info" after which nothing happened except my SAT NAV now seems to have lost its GPS signal.

I've got the same on mine, comes up every trip at the moment, never installs correctly.

I don't think a dealer will be able to help, probably have to wait for the main Skoda database to correct the problem.

It says it's a UI update so nothing important.

Possibly. My Sat Nav seems to have found its proper location now so hopefully there'll be no further problems.

Yes, the map updates are automatic and I can see the map version by selecting settings in the menu, then version (I think, or someting towards the end of the settings menu). I carry out this check automatically in the car but it's not so easy to remember what I press when I'm not in the car!

I'm in Ireland and I have a 2024 mk3 superb also getting the messages repeatedly for there last week, I click to install and then the next day its back at it again.

After trying to update several times without success sometimes the installation 'wheel' gets stuck at about 75%, but other times it has reached 100% and said installation successful but as we know it isn't!

You would think Skoda would have tested the OTA updates before releasing them but obviously not on this occasion.

These are the updates I'm getting daily, both go to 100% and both say they've updated, and will complete on restarting the vehicle, but the next day both will come back!

I've found the Shop App, which I did know existed, so not sure if thats new. But can't find the Application app anywhere.

Not sure if it’ll help but have you tried to soft reset? Hold down the power button until it turns off, then turn back on again?

I've not tried that, not least since I was unaware of it, but my satnav has now found its correct location so must be able to see some satellites.

I've just been in the car and I was nearly right. You need to be selecting settings in the menu, but then system information and not version My OAP brain sometimes gets these things mixed up!

The only thing that's not right now is when I press a location on the map that I want to go to and it comes up with the address, England, Deutschland. Also, when I look in Traffication, it shows the traffic laws for Germany but has never issued any notifications in the UK. I went to Lithuania in the car in April/May and the correct countries were shown every time I crossed a border and notifications were received, but as soon as we came off the ferry in Dover, it went back to Germany. It's going in for a service next month and the warrenty runs until October, so I've asked the dealer to have a look at it.

In the past few weeks I've had similar problems with my 2020 Kamiq although I haven't gone into such depth investigating as here, thinking it was the return of a problem two to three years ago which ended up with my Kamiq on the dealer's computer for four or five hours being updated.

I shall follow things up further.

I've tried a soft reset and that didn't work.

Hi,

I face the following issue some months ago :

Since then, I have regular updates as shown on @cnc 's pics above. Just on the top of the head, I would says 6 or 7 updates in the last 3 weeks...

I first thought it was always the same update that struggled going thru, but when I had a closer look to the informations, I noticed some slight differences in the content of update informations. They look the same but, they are not...
I let you check.

You may well be correct, there have been slight differences in the wording, and for the last two days I have had no notifications, so perhaps I am at last up to date. I haven't noticed anything different on the main screen, but perhaps it's a functional difference, and not obviously noticeable to the end user. I'll keep a look out for further notifications.

I had a new one this morning which is not yet completed. At first glance, once again a previous one, making you think it did not go well and had to be reloaded.

But if you look at the informations of the update content, you can see, it's different from the previous one. 😉

I just don't understand why there are so numerous updates in such a short period of time... Just from the top of the head, I would say 8 to 10 over the last 30 days.

I had to originally, a "shop" update and a "registration" update, over the last few days the "shop" update seems to have disappeared, so I'm presuming its actually completed but I'm still getting the "registration" update.

Had a bit of a panic this morning because the infotainment centre started up with a app opening than came up the can't open app on a black screen, thought had locked up completely, but when I pressed the Home but it was as it should be, thankfully.
