Revo'd Fabia VRS - Clutch slip

Hi Everyone, my first post so here goes.

The clutch on my FABIA VRS is slipping once the turbo kicks in.

When revs hit 2000 rpm it slips then grips again at about 3500 rpm, do I need a new standard clutch or an upgrade?

Being as it's modified, I would go with an upgraded clutch.

It is a 53 plate, with 41k on clock. had it remapped @ 38k.

Plan on keeping for another 3 years

Wasn't bought in December was it? Try and scrounge at new clutch via warranty at Skoda.

Just keep your identity to a minimum if so

agree with Snoopie , the Sachs uprated clutch is the one to go for , i know Jabba supply and fit them and poss other Tuners

Also the remap maybe producing too much torque , which will make the original clutch slip very quickly , especially considering the mileage done , speak to the people who remapped it to see if they can tweak the map

Revo is a generic map and can't be tweaked IIRC! but it dunt give too much extra torque, so maybe the clutch was fooked before you got it and the REVO just helped it along!

I've had my Furby Revo'd at 7500 and it's done almost 15k with no problems at all. Have you been booting it under 2k rpm?

Had my car done at just under 400 miles. I'm afraid i can't recommend any tuning companies near you. Good luck..

Hey people just had my '04 fabia vrs remapped to 170 and my clutch started to slip this evening but only in 6th. Also i noticed it seems to be smoking a fair bit more than it used to. Is this normal for a remapped one.

Revo remaps are know for their spiky torque curves which dont do wonders for the clutch. They do smoke more than standard higher up in the rev range so this is to be expected.

I have a 04 plate Fabia VRS had mapped by APS at 48,000 now slipping at 58,000 when the turbo kicks in and makes a whine sound, so it sounds like i have the same problem my friend!

Get a new Sachs Clutch, and you will be ok for any more mods.

No point buying an better than standard clutch if your going to strap on a great big turbo and need an even better one! See my drift?

Just had mine re-mapped and there is a little more smoke. I was told the re-map gives 300ft lb torque (standard is around 220 I think??) so it's no surprise that the clutches start to slip. The tech said that the standard clutch will take 300 ft lb, but it will wear out more quickly if you cane it every where...More torque that a 911 or Ferrari 36o....Got to be fun....
