I hate the look of a normal fabia mk1 1 but like how the VRS looks, so the same will apply to me for the mk2 Fabia VRS, I think it will look good.

Wahay!!! They changed the pants boot lettering:thumbup:

Mind you,not sure if its an improvement:confused:

Need to nick some ideas from Audi on badging I think

If they do that they would have to add 3k to the asking price. I'm sure thats where the extra money goes on an audi. Havent found any evidence of the extra spend anywhere else in the one I have.

Well looks like I may be going back to VW or AUDI may get MINI OR 330D B.M.W

Looks like Skoda have borrowed some of design from Ford, the head and fog lights look very similar to the Fiesta. The side and rear windows also look smaller. Have to look at one when it arrives in the showroom before passing any conclusions though.

I'm still going to wait and have a look at the Joyster before I decide what my next car will be....

Not too bad but I wish SKODA would put the TDi engine in the saloon over here,I hope so in the new model.

See Top Gear reckon "a six-speed gearbox will be offered for the first in time in the Fabia range." Have they never heard of the vRS?

At least there will be a six speed auto, it cant be any worse than the current 4 speed one.

I am pleased that the 1.2 gets a power boost, but why dont they drop the lesser 1.2, will anyone buy a car that is actually that slow?

Talking of slow, a range topping petrol with a massive 105BHP, I can barely contain the excitement.

I like the looks though and I may be temped back from Hyundai when it's on sale, providing there are some bigger petrols avaliable

The new Fabia looks pleasant enough and I think it will sell well as long as they don't ask for silly money. Back and sides look fine; not so sure on the front. The lights... that grille... hmmm... jury still out.

For me, it doesn't stand out in the way the mk 1 did. It's just a bit samey. The mk 1 looked different to its peers in a kind of love it or hate it way. I wasn't totally sure about the mk 1 at first, but it's stood the test of time well, and I'd still consider it for a new small car now.

vrs in blue!!?:P

If it looks like that I'll buy one!

It's supposed to get the 1.4TSI 125BHP too, and the same with 170BHP for the RS, but maybe not for a year or two..

Yeah as if! It will arrive with acres of clearance under the arches like all Skodas do. Why they go for such cranked-up ride heights I will never know. Perhaps Skoda directors have shares in Eibach...

I thought it was to do with the state of the roads in cheq land. I remember someone saying once that the original fabia was designed to be slightly lower and on 17's but they had to go high with 16's due to the roads over there.

sorry guys, i think i may be the only person here brave enoughto say this, but that is one ugly car, it has a slight shape like a swift, but i think you will probably find it looks more like Daihatsu Sirion (98-05) model. esp from the front, i think it looks cheap and tacky, and would not buy one. sorry to be so harsh.

always nice to wish though:)

not being harsh mate statning a opinion am not to keen on it but maybe they might work some wonders with the vrs like they did with the model thats out now

When they say tipronic, that's not DSG, right?

nope, I said it on the last page! it's minging. They need to sort their designers out!

Like the majority on here it seems, I think it looks OK from the side/back, but that nose looks horrible IMHO.

I have a real problem with most modern car designs in the Focus/Golf/Fabia size. To my eyes the Golf V looks worse than the Golf IV, the new Focus is not as neat as the old one, the Seat Leon looks as if it's trying too hard to look modern/sporty, as does the Civic, and the BMW 1 series looks like an origami prototype. I do like the Alfa 147 but depreciation/build quality/reliabilty issues are too much of a concern. The only company making cars that I consistently like the engineering and look of is Audi - understated but modern & classy. But can I bring myself to spend that much extra for an A3 with the same running gear as the Fabia?

I think the size of the headlights is a bit exaggerated on the first official pics because you can see the front and the side, so maybe it will be better in real life. More like the Roomster:

I'm with you on the Audi thing tho, I really liked the old A3 and love the new one even more. If I wasn't a Skoda man that's what I'd have. BMW 1 series looks like a ridiculous gangster car and SEAT have gone a bit silly, especially on the sporting models.

Well I hope you're right - I love our current vRS and was looking forward to getting a new one with the 2.0 TDI engine. Perhaps with a different grille etc they can make it look better for the vRS.

Any idea if Beige is going to be the main colour?

No but I think gold might be!

I'm not sure on the new design, dunno why but to me it makes the current model look really sporty!!
