:iagree:

anyhow

isn't that fan mounted the wrong side of the radiator:confused:

surely that fan spins anti-clockwise?

I seem to remember my dad telling me that he and my mum used to have a Hillman Imp, and the fan on that was hooked up the wrong way round out of the factory. In fact, I'm sure he said they were ALL like that, although most were rewired by the dealers before sale - ah, the joys of 70s UK motoring! ;)

I have faith :P

Will the battery tray be coming off then now the new one is in the boot? Looks like its fairly rotten anyhow.

Good luck getting that waxy ****e off. I struggled with my MK2 - its like glue.

There isn't really a battery tray to speak of just a little runner at the back. I think what i will do is cut the top section of the chassis leg away and weld a new flat piece of steel accross so its just a nice flat panel.

  • 2 months later...

And quite a nice follow on for an update...

As projects usually do this one is snow balling somewhat with me deciding to go the whole hog whilst I am there. The engine bay is being prepped, welded and reworked so all the harnesses will be hidden where possible and any unused bracketry removed, I have also removed the back upper bulkhead so it looks a lot tidier and gives me more room to work around the engine.

Before removal..
