If anyone asks hes cleaning the legs for his new cable ;) Jeremy clarkson style.

looking really good,

I don't know how you have the patience for it, I couldn't spend this long getting it right, how long do you think it's going to be now?

its like anything else though when you work on cars all day do you really want to carry on once you get home

just been reading this again from the start some great work mate you really have some talent i wouldnt know were to start lol will be great to see the finished product though :-) dont mean to sound dopey is it going to be running fwd or 4wd or rwd

FWD still which could be amusing. :)

I didnt do anything with it for ages, really lost momentum with it but now i'm back on it collecting little bits here and there ready so when the bodyshop work is done I can get on with it as i'll have most of the bits I need.

You'll be suprised how well it will put down the power, your building it properly which is unusual with these!

A mate of mine has a good one too, built properly but meant to look like a knackered old golf so doesn't have the attention to detail bodywork wise that yours has, he posted an 8min 50 sec BTG lap on the Nurburgring after only a few laps!

Lots of bits getting collected together, bits will be off for powder coating soon.

And my quaife ATB diff will be here next week to go in my newly aquired 02J gearbox.

I sold the G60 steels and used the money to buy the Speedlines and the money from the brakes more than covered the refurb. Just taken a large job on up the unit, once thats done I have another to do which has paid for the diff.

I pinstriped the wheels myself, they arent perfect a little wavy in places but its really tricky to do. But I think once they are on the car they will look fine as you will look at them as a feature rather than them being on their own.

Looking good. You have a very understanding swmbo bringing wheels into the dining room.

I agree, I cant wait to see the finished article.

Lol, you'll need better tyres than that if you want to go in a straight line!!

They'll never put all that power on the road, except in a line of black rubber and smoke!

they do look good in the flesh :)

ATB diff, programmable boost in 1st and 2nd gear and I dont drive like a terrorist they should be ok. The only make in the size I wanted.

I've heard those are actually not too bad a tyre.

Probably a good deal better than what was available when the golf MK II was a new car.
