just thought i'd share this with you all to let you know if you really try you CAN get the octy vRS to go further on a tank full.

Went to Barmouth via Welshpool Sunday just gone and had a look at the trip during the run there, at one point the average mpg went as high as 45.2mpg and ran the majoritory of the journey at 42mpg or just over.

must say i am well impressed with the cars range when on a long run at constant speeds.

the trip has got to 360miles since the last fill up and theres about 50-60 left in there.

Anyone get this kind of consumption on a regular basis from there RS ?

Normally hovers around 30-32mpg round town driving.

I used to regularly get 425miles out of a tank.....since been Jabba-ed and get around 280-350 depending on my mood. ;)

dont know what the average is, but I can drive all the way from my house to the nurburgring in germany and have enough left for a lap of the track.

Normally get around 36-37mpg. Did try an experiment where I drove with economy in mind and with the mpg showing on the trip computer all the time for a tankful and got around 45. Have to say that it did drive me slightly mad though - not used to being in lane 1 and being passed by lorries etc :(

Sh!t Im only getting around 250 to a tank, although I do alot of traffic, puncuated with 1-2-0mph blasts, anyone getting worse?

Slushbox + Jabba remap = 28MPG if I'm lucky

Ho hum, serves me right :(

Hi Geoff :wavey:

Mine does 0-60 in 23 days and I managed to beat a dead cow going at full whack the other day :P

& Xavier, come back when you can get 700+ from a tank :P

But that's still only about 9 miles per litre. Not really all that impressive...

Rob.

So were you going at full whack, Jon, or was it the dead cow? ;)

See what you've started now, Colin?? :D

There are still tanks in Germany I suspect... and I'm more than 500 miles from there....

i got 57mpg on a gentle run from my house to leyland with the boost set lower...

will manage 46-47 on a long run off boost with the vtune set lean.... not bad for brick aero pack...

Suspect the low weight configuration may be helping you somewhat!

I've done this run a fair few times in the vRS, average for the whole run is usually 41-42 mpg, but only if you take it a bit easy. Difficult to withstand the temptation to burn people off around the islands near Shrewsbury or up the mountains in Wales

I usually get between 250 to 300 miles to a tank. You lot must be driving like grannies!

usual average is 35mpg but I struggle with my lead foot :D
