Yes, got that switched on mate and used a sync utility for a Nokia hands free kit to copy the address book over.

The Nokia supports OBEX push of contacts over bluetooth, but I can't find any reference to OBEX support for the OEM BT kit, if it could be enabled then it would simply be a case of "pushing" contacts to the car kit.

Ok - Will investigate more ;)

Are you sitting down??

****** I read the manual******

It mentions allow other devices such as BT car kits access to the SIM for making and recieving calls.

Therefore, it is with great sadness to say...

Yer nowforth BARRED from the Tech-Shed!:rofl:

This is due to contravention of the first rule of Tech-Shed:

1) Thou shall not RTFM

2) Thou shall not RTFM

;)

Sorry, I won't do it again. :P

NSS worked fine on vista for me too :)

Barely had time to look at the thing today - Must try harder.

I'm impressed - improvement in overall speed, and the gallery and camera are loads better.

All I need now is for some better battery performance, and for it to talk properly to my Alpine, for phonebook etc :)

i've just changed my product code so i can do this update( i did this before to get .13) and its a bloody big download!! 114.9Mb!

The full N95 service pack (Phoenix) for all the varients and patches is 4.3gb...

I am still not sure about these end user upgrades, I don't reckon you get everything.

Oddest thing I've noticed is with the upgrade I seem to have more phone memory available, this is despite having the full Nokia menu's now instead of the reduced O2 ones.

I think that's probably a full flash though isn't it Martin. Mind you 4.3gb is a fair old amount of firmware for a phone

Because the phone memory is totally wiped during upgrade so a fresh phone will have over 100mb MEMORY free... (the memory fills up over time with installed programs, temp files, txt messages etc)

and the new firmware introduces a feature called demand paging which gives more free RAM, which allows the phone to run more programs at once.

As an aside, i suggest getting hold of an application called handy Taskman, its a replacement for the std task-manager for the phone(when you hold down the menu button).. and its very handy..

Not sure, although I think I need to be, watch this space. The 4.3gb is the data for all product codes. Software for Nokia is a nightmare as they update several models every week and we have to update everything to conform to the required standard. there are 44 models to watch.

If they update the E65, N70, N73, N91 and N95 at the same time (Like they did a few weeks ago) your talking 20gb

Dunno if I missed this and Its old news, but the firmware for the O2 Branded N95 is available now, not sure if the other networks are or not?

Can't be that old news, as when I tried upgrading last Wednesday, it wasn't available. So I debranded and upgraded instead :)
