As I'm obviously typing this with all fingers .............No it did not.....................LOL

I dont think that type of stand was designed for 225/45/17 tyres, as even if you get it dead centre, it still seems to hang over a bit.

It was cold and I wanted to get something done quickly, so there it stayed.

that is a shocking use of ramps though gerry, your only bloody half on!!

hope you have a better aim when involved with other activites!!

Do you have the dimensions of the ABD intercooler? As I think the frontera one is a very similar size for £30!

interesting link

but hey, they only make the turbo!

I have been known to get a hole in one........................................LOL

Beretta,

BHP Figures mean nothing IMO on cars like ours.

Its all about the extra performance! BHP is great for the pub, but when it comes down to it, i'd rather have a smoother, over all faster car, than a peaky car that has more power for all of 1 second!

This is why I dont like quoting power figures when my customers ask me.

They were quoted to show that some of us have actually have had the cars on different RR's to prove figures rather than just think of a figure and double it, as many others have on here and to show that its virtually impossible to get a KO3s to run to the power outputs claimed by some.

We are already aware that its how it performs on the road that counts, and on the road I can assure that my car is not at all peaky and has been mapped to pull to the red line and beyond, nor does it lose power after one second.

The dreaded power figures issue raises its head again.......

The truth is out there, keep searching............

I feel you may of mis-interperated what I was saying LOL

I was in agreement with you, not attacking you :)

it was also more aimed towards "unrealistic" power figures and power figures in general against a car that doesnt have as much power, but performs better all round.

Hey ladys im BACK!

Great to see nothing changes on here!!!

I have had my car on 3 RR's at JKM's it was 211 BHP with 250 Tourgue, I was also at santa pod and they had a portable RR and mine showed 216 with 249 tourque and finaly It was on another portable down at boy racers are us halfords when they had a show day and mine ran 255 and 280 tourque!

Down the pub i always qoute the halfords RR in my head I know its 215 and 250-260 torque.

:D

fair enough then vrs180, what mods have you done to get your 247bhp? what turbo and manifold are you running?

so to clear the air tell us what mods you have my friend :)

Bengie...........my car spec is as follows;

CAR: 53 plate Octy vrs hatch (16K miles)

ENGINE: Jabba custom remap, Milltec turbo back exhaust (2.75" from turbo to rear box), Forge 007P, Denso IK20's, Mobil 1 0w40 SHC, std VAG filters.

FUEL: V power

PIKEY MODS: Tripple layer thermol protection applied to entire (steel) turbo outlet pipe, modified SMIC intake ducting (approx 15% more flow to cooler matrix).

My car was remaped on Thursday 08/11/2007 and I have a print out that records the following; pre remap 205.2 bhp @ 5897rpm & 264.7 Nm @ 4729 rpm.

Post remap 247 bhp @ 5830 rpm & 343.9 Nm @ 4729 rpm.

Please feel free to contact Nick at Jabba ref the above data, I'm sure he would be more than happy to verify !!! He can also confirm what he told me....that my car had the lowest boost temperatures he's seen on a vRS with a SMIC and was comfortably able to run max boost.

HTH

PS. when I posted on this thread I made no mention of bhp or torque figures, all I did do was try to offer friendly help......so why do you feel the need to have a go at me

I know of one person on here that claims to have (I think) 370 bhp from a jabba IHI conversion which will have been done on the same RR, and I dont recall you (or anyone else) having a pop at him

vrs180 - do you recall what sort of inlet charge air temperatures you were seeing? What boost pressure, and ambient air temperature in the dyno bay?

I've been doing some measurements to try and decide what route to go with intercoolers.. I have a Custom Code remap making 1.5bar boost midrange, dropping to about 1 bar at peak rpm, standard intercooler arrangement at present sees inlet air temperatures see >60deg.C in around 20-30 seconds of full load/ high rpm operation in 4th gear, in ambient outside temperature of 15C.. which in reality is as useful as a chocolate teapot. :(

he's a bit blunt, but nobody was having a go or a pop. experience has taught that a Jabba remapped 1.8T doesn't see the same results on other rolling roads. but peak figures are by the by as the cars actually drive very nicely and the work done is pretty much top notch

:)

Well guys I will let you all know what I get on Monday as my car is going to Jabba ;)

I have my figure from the Marlin RR day so if I get way more than that on the per map power run we will all know the score ;)

Of course if I don't see 250 after I'll be pi$$ed

As long as the car drives nice to the way you want it then who cares about pub figures :)

my point exactly :)

Rich - do you have an ACT gauge fitted all the time?

no mate, not at the moment, but I will as a confirmation - I'm logging the Inlet temperature from the on-board comms datastream, taking the reeading from the IAT sensor on the engine.

Ah right LOL I may fit a Mike R gauge at some point, or make my own then!

richm

Cant help mate, I sat upstairs and kept well out of the way and I did'nt think to ask :o

The only time I talked to Nick during the remap was when he came upstairs to ask me what I had done to my car. He said he was suprised by the pre remap power and torque figures my car was producing, even taking into account 2.75" (IHI) spec down pipe and exhaust ect ect. When I told him about my SMIC mods, he said that would explain it !

I do recall another guy who I presume must of helped Nick remap my car, mention (while I was paying) that the max boost temps were (I think) in the low 50's.

As for the outside temps, again not sure, it certainly was'nt hot but it was mild enough to be comfortable outside in a T shirt.

Sorry for being as much use as a chocolate teapot :) In light of recent events on here I will try to do much better next time :D

Bill,

your graph should say the temperature of the run. is the graph corrected?

Bill, no need to get so touchy, i have been there done it and got a whole load of t-shirts.

i have been to jabba, paid them money and got had their product and they gave me a print out telling me i had 226bhp and 256lbft yet VAG-COM and every other RR never got above 205bhp so history dictates that jabba figures tend to be a little bit optimistic.

and by your mods and my experience coupled with others i would say it isn't capable from the standard turbo and a lot of people would agree.

and its Stuart that has the IHI conversiona and Jabba say 350bhp and 375lbft yet (although running slightly poorly) on JKM it only got about 280 i think.

Oooops......... your right it does :o

Atmospheric pressure = 1023 mbar

Air temp = 16 C

The turbo pressure, dump gas pressure/temp and oil temp has been left blank

I'm not sure what you mean by corrected ? if it helps I would be happy to send a pic of my graph via my mobile for somone to post on here (computor playing up at mo and wont do pic's).

Hi Bill,

See this link for the why rolling roads correct the power :)

Angry Dog

Thanx for the link......interesting stuff

Maths has never been my strong point, but I had a go at the calc anyway, lol

Assuming my Jabba bhp figures are in fact uncorrected, I get a correction factor of 1.26

Which would mean only 196bhp (corrected)

Surely that cant be right  can it :)
