Insurance for Octy vRS!

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Insurance is out on the VRS next month....

Suggest some good places / tips on getting my quote down please!!!!!!

I've tried admiral and got a quote of £1051 with a 0-10% remap and different filters declared.

Was going to try swift but apparently because im only 23 they won't quote me.

Chris Knott apparently gives 10% off, so will ring them tomorrow and see what they can offer me.

That's who I'll be using this year :)

Just gone with more than -

430 full comp and no claims cover + the misses on it too - I am a tad older (26) but they were the cheapest by 100 quid or so.

Ahh to be young again  :thumbdwn:

Try Adrian Flux. They gave me the best quote.

More Than. £340 on a standard vRS. I'm getting older though...:o

I'm 26, 6 years no claims, with the wife (26 too) added, it came to £460. That was with More Than. They seemed to be the cheapest.

No mods however.

£490 with Esure.

Try confussed.com, I was surprised how good it was.

Tesco - £600 - 26 - 4 Years No claims - Ban 2 Years ago

Tesco offer good prices but are very slow in sorting out your claim if you need to make one. Took me 6 weeks to get my car repaired and returned when I last made a claim in 2002, 4 weeks was spent by tesco deciding if it was a repair or write off. No other car was involved so should have been straight forward but they dragged their heels. Car was finally returned just as my policy renewal came through the door. I have been with Direct Line ever since however they just added £240 to my premium for the mods I have even though there is no real power gains in the things I have done so its goodbye to them in August too.

Try elephant and they do mods as well.

Cheapest for me but only once i added the mrs to the policy.

Other thing to note is that if you have a bump they will only replace modded parts with OEM

Cool, thanks guys. When I get time at work I'll ring around today and get some quotes!

If I can get it under £1k with all mods declared i'll be happy.

churchill, mine is £980 or summat like that, std, full comp, at 23 with 3 points and a claim and 2yrs no claims.

Wow, so £1050 from admiral might actually be the best quote by the looks of your guys!

Tried a couple online but because im not 25 they won't quote me.

Going to ring Chris Knot / Adrian flux when I can!

Well Chris Knott will match admirals at £1051 but for 12 months... which seems pretty good.

I soo should have said admiral quoted me cheaper, didn't have my head on...

Sky Insurance every time, two years in a row they've come up trumps by a large margin. That's 26 y/o with £4k+ of mods, agreed value, European cover and breakdown all for £450.

They would have asked for proof of the cheaper quote. They did with me, i had to send a printed copy.

Cool, glad you said that!

Not sure if that £1050 was with the 10% briskoda discount tho, but we'll see :)

Try a firm named Brentacre based in Swansea, very good at dealing with mods and give you a limited bhp deal where they will insure you upto a specific amount.

Worth a quote at least :)

I used the following search engine.

Insurancewide.com Home Page

You put in general info, ie age etc, and it tells you which companies to use, i tried it, and the top one for me, more than, was significantly less than others.
