Just been in for the first time today as one of my offices in next door. Dead as a dodo, very cold, eerie and silent, quite unfriendly staff. Asked if they were doing any opening offers on servicing and they didnt seem interested, according to colleagues in the office theyve seen no-one but Octavia taxis going in. Will be interesting to see how this one goes as Sinclairs have a mixed reputation round here.

I went in today to buy a load liner and DIN facia panel for my Fabia. Chap behind the desk was very plesant and helpful. He was also prepaired to order the bit's for me without me paying for them (even though I offered to pay up front).

Parts should be in Tuesday . . . watch this space!

Went in for the first time today, thought the staff were fine, friendly enough and helpful.
They couldn't locate the rattle in my dash (won't hold that against them, rattles are horrible problems to resolve!), but they suggested I book it in again for a whole day so they can take the entire dash out, so I'll take the car back in the next few weeks and see how it goes.

Happy enough with my first encounter with them though

Just bought some bits for my vRS there. Parts man was very helpful and answered all my questions and priced up a few different things like the 40000 miles service will be just undre £250. Ordered parts without payment even though I offered to pay upfront but they were fine with it. Parts should be in by Wednesday.

While there I looked at the new Limited Edition Octavia vRS Estate which is nice but i'm not fussed on the wheels.

Despite my initial misgivings about Sinclairs my car has required some minor work and i've been in twice and can say that my opinion has greatly improved. They deal with you promptly, curteously, keep you informed and dont leave you dissapointed. My car has a problem with the reversing sensors, it was booked in at 8am, by 9 they had rung me to confirm an error with one sensor, informed me that a software update is available but they dont have it. So understandably they dont want to replace anything if a software flash will fix it, the service manager has rung me at least once a week to keep me updated on the progress, very impressed.

Been in this morning with a rattly front passenger door trim, replaced all fixing clips, now silent and asked if wanted the drivers side doing as a precaution. Knocking noise from front suspension when on full lock, technician said it was a common problem with bushes on Fabia and Polo, he had checked them, in good condition but offered to replace them for my peace of mind. Even checked a problem that i reported but has since dissapeared again, very impressed and all in one morning.

Its nice to feel listened too and not be fobbed off when dealing with minor issues.

Been meaning to do this for a while.

Had my 40,000 mile service done in April. Given a free courtesy car ( Fabia II 1.4tdi) which quality wise couldn't touch my vRS. Also mentioned a leaking Intercooler pipe which was done under warranty with no problems. They also spotted that the cap for my rear wiper was missing and ordered me one.

A few days ago I booked the car in to have the bushes done. When I picked the car up all inside had been cleaned which I was impressed with. Service was second to none and will happilly take my car there again.

Had a my Fabia vRS in due to a turbo failure. Was given a courtesy car no questions asked and kept informed during the whole process. Despite the car being 3 months out of warranty they engaged Skoda UK on my behalf and negotiated a parts payment (without me having to ask). Fantastic service, very impressed. A big thank you to Jeff Hendy for making the whole experience as painless as possible and going the extra mile.

I've bought parts from them and I must say I was impressed with the guy I dealt with. Efficient, courteous, helpful and informative in person and over the phone.

I'll certainly use them again. I might even get my servicing done there.

After much research both on the hoof and online, Skoda Head Office fixed up for me to have a test drive in a new Yeti at Sinclair Skoda in Swansea.  I went, fully expecting to be yawned at and tolerated, and then got rid of as soon as possible.

How wrong was I?

Every courtesy was extended to me.  I'd an accompanied test drive that took well over half an hour, with no pressure to get back at all.  Then all bits of the vehicle were explained in depth, my old car given the once over - and then we sat down to haggle (after I'd drooled over a Scout estate and a Superb estate in the showroom).

Haggle?  How wrong was I again!  After taping away on his old calculator the sales man (the manager to boot) emerged from beneath his furrowed forehead and proceeded to knock me off my seat - figuratively - with his offer.  Not only was the bid for my filthy Megane a decent one, but his price for a new 170bhp Yeti Elegance was better than some online brokers and way better than Griffin Mill could come up with.  And after a request from me to sharpen his pencil he came up immediately with a winner that kept us both happy.

I've bought and sold cars for years - but never, ever, has it been as painless and comfortable as this, nor has the deal been done so quickly.  i'd expected to leave to mull things over, and then be sacrificed to the vagaries of the internet!!

Well done Andy, and Sinclair Skoda - its a thumbs up from me!

i'll also give a big thumbs up to Sinclair Skoda Swansea, been dealing with a really nice guy there called Martyn, Can't do enough to help you. Went in initially looking for a used VRS, within 5 mins they'd found one at the right price and colour for me, got talking about new ones and  at no point was i pressured but ended up after walking through figures with him deciding on a brand new 170 VRS in Black, Couldn't do enough to help letting me test my phone to pair with the cars, talking through the options with me and each week i get an email from him confirming how the build is looking on the system, if its moved etc.

Took my father in as i was so impressed with the Superb, he took one for a test drive and will be ordering a brand new Estate very soon.

So all in all Sinclair Skoda highly recommended, very refreshing to be treated like a Human by the car dealer, better than ******************** whom in all their dealerships you're an annoyance when you want to actually sit in a car!

Can only echo the above comments, in fact I really should have posted earlier. After having a great customer experience during my Fabia turbo failure I was happy to go in and look for the possibilities of a used Octavia vRS. Ben talked me through some figures, gave me a decent valuation for my car and I ended up with a brand new FL TSI vRS. Fantastic experience from beginning to end and just a breath of fresh air from the usual buying experience. Ben even phoned me to see the car 5 mins after it been delivered. Top chap and top dealership, highly recommended.

And as a follow up to my previous comments.  I'd a couple of phone calls to say that my car would be ready on time at the original estimate of 8 weeks delivery.

This was followed by another call to confirm it all, and arrange a time - and to tell me that one or two of my dealer-fit extras were not immediately available.  no probs, I thought.

On the day I was dealt with at the right time, talked through all the paperwork, given an intensive walk-through the new car - and off I went, very happy.

the whole process was not at all stressful, and is a credit to the team at Sinclair Skoda.

Hello

I picked up my blue vRS from Sinclair yesterday. All I can say is that Sinclair were easily the best dealer i've ever dealt with.

Top marks to Andy Shorland, Sales Manager.

I hope they will take mine and Waplords advice and start embracing the forum as I'm sure they'll do a lot more business :) (not that I am suggesting that they are quiet, because they are very busy - However they will always find time to speak to you if you need anything :)

Nothing but praise from me either . SG are on the ball and the service was excellent. Never buying a car has been easier than with SG. It does go agains the grain having dealt with SG over the years on their mercedes side and finding quite frankly, shocking service levels but at Skoda they have excelled. Well done SG!

Just placed an order for an O2 vRS through Sinclair.   Emailed several dealers, Andy Shortland came back to me very quickly with a good price.  Subsequently haggled a bit and ended up with a price close to some online brokers. Dealt with Ben Chapman during the order process - very efficient and professional.  Waiting on delivery in 12ish weeks now - will see what happens, but   so far.

Collected my shiny new Octavia vRS from Sinclairs last week . . . . . . .that's under 4 weeks from order to delivery - fantastic!!

Superb service all round from Sinclair's.  Excellent communication throughout the buying process, emails responded to very quickly, I even received photos of the car as soon as it had been delivered!  There was no hard sell of extra's and the agreed price was amongst the best I could find (I tried many delers!). They were even very honest - telling me that mats had come as standard with the car when I was going to pay for some.  Handover was good and unhurried, all the paperwork was ready, the car had been kept undercover, had plenty of time to inspect before accepting.

Best of all was the delivery timescale though - was expecting a torrid 12-14 week wait, but they managed to find a car in the system which was not allocated - apparently the sales manager gets in really early to trawl through the stock system as it updates overnight.

Big thank you to salesman Ben Chapman for a very pleasant experience.

Likely to use Sinclair's for servicing when the time comes as I'd have the confidence they'd do a decent job.

Fantastic service from Sinclair Skoda Swansea!

Agree with the above, Andy Shorland is a brilliant guy to deal with. A refreshing change and a pleasure do to business with. No sales pressure as they are so successful !

Also, Gemma (who took over my order from Ben ) is really nice and you feel that she wants to help you.  Actually better in my opinion and a credit to Sincalir Skoda!

Both just offer top service and take all the hassle away from buying a new car,

One of the best experiences of buying a new car ! Andy and his staff will really look after you!

This was the best experience in buying a new car ever! Just get in touch with Swansea / Sinclair Skoda!

Good service again from Sinclair Skoda!

Took my vRS in to find out why it was eating the insides of it's front tyres. They found the tracking was out and the drop links also needed replacing. They also found that the wrong rear light bulb had been put it on the last MOT which I had done somewhere else. Won't be going there again. Jeff showed me the replaced droplinks just for me too see that they were worn. Not many garages do that let alone dealers! Price for work was very resonable as were price of parts. Car was valeted inside and a quick wash on the outside to get the salt off.

Courtesy car was a Fabia 3 1.2 TSI. Good car, handled well, went well just a shame it was yellow. Had a good chat with Jeff and Andy about how many cars they had sold before the New Year. Andy alone had sold over 14 just that day with deals over the phone and local taxi firms buying fleets of Octavias. Also talked about the new vRS and it's been a slow burner. they seem to think that many followers of the old vRS can't make the jump to less fuel economy of a petrol and still don't like the DSG even though it's better. They also think that it will easily do it's top speed of 140mph. According to a man in the pub anyway. :giggle:

Friendly and helpful as ever. Makes taking a car to a dealer a pleasure. Once funds allow I'll definately buy my new vRS from them.

After being recommended on this site to call them to ask about a quote for a Yeti. I am still waiting for a call back a week later. The Yeti would have been my first Skoda. The nearest I got to a Volkswagen group car was a great Seat Altea 2.0 FSI! It seems Swansea doesn't need another Yeti order on their over-full book?

Picked up my new vRS Octavia estate two weeks ago at Sinclairs and can oly say how personable, professional and excellent in every way the sales team of Ed Hilton and manager Brian Thomas were. Totally non-pressurised, fairly dealt with and gave a fair price for my traded car.
I was given the new car for an extended test drive with no quibbling and sealed the deal on that day after previously taking a couple of weeks to decide to take the plunge.

After-sales contact was again, much better than many other garages I've dealt with. Looks like they want to make the experience as painless as possible and I'm sure will retain custom in this way.

Top marks to Sinclair Skoda Swansea.

Recently had my DSG service done at Sinclair, top marks. Turned up with my car on Friday morning at 8am, and I was away in a Fabia Greenline ( I requested a Diesel, and got one ) courtesy car for the day.

Going to be taking my fathers car for quite a lot of work in this week, and am looking forward to taking it there.

Can highly recommend Sinclair Skoda. Fantastic service I had.

Hi y'all

This is to alert you to a positive post I made in the Yeti section about an experience with Sinclairs - but because I am working with an iPad I'm unable (I.e. too inept) to cut and paste it to here, or to create a link. Doh!

Suffice to say I was delighted with their Customer Service and support.

  • This is a quote from a post I made in the Yeti forum after buying a demonstrator Yeti SE Greenline from Sinclair's:
"Yes, Sinclairs were very good. I didn't want treating like I was a necessary burden but then again, I didn't want treating like I was buying the most expensive car in the world. And I wasn't. The Yeti was waiting on the forecourt when we arrived and after introducing himself to my Wife and myself, Mr Thomas gave me the keys and left us to have a good nosey round. The formalities were completed in about half an hour over a cup of coffee ( most of that time was spent persuading the bank that I really did want to spend that amount of money! )

So, all in all I was very pleased.

Regards, Lee."

i can add to the experience of going to skoda swansea, three times i have gone to them and they made me and my car part of the skoda family, they carried out the "job in hand" and also carried out a free health check, which highlighted some minor jobs needing doing, like a couple of peeps have said i'll take mine back to them for jobs that need doing time again. Before jobs that were found needed doing got a phone call and cost of carrying out job. All staff friendly and chatty.  keep up the good work.

Car threw a wobbly on the way home from Cardiff, epc light came on and felt like it was misfiring. Pulled over, restarted and it drove fine so took it to Sinclair's. They got it in straightaway but found a few sporadic codes that couldn't be pinpointed. He cleared all the codes, explained what could of caused it and seemed disappointed he couldn't find out what it was. He did however fix the rattle I had within 5 mins.

Can't fault the service again really and they've got a few nice Yeti there too

My Octavia has just been for its first MOT and 50k Service.

A completely painless experience.  Staff are always polite, helpful and friendly. They spotted some damage to my seat bolster and informed me that is covered under warranty and have arranged for it to be repaired. I'll be looking to trade the Octavia sometime next year and my repeat custom is guaranteed. So nice to find a garage you can trust.
