  1. No. It's even a frequently removed part on cars that have a 1.8T as standard.
  2. So as you may know, I have a Springer Spaniel who travelled in the boot of the car, but that was effort including taking the dog guard from one car to the other and so on. Instead of this, I started a thread looking for a harness to hook onto the rear seats so my wee "pup" could travel in style. As such, he got my rear seat bases full of hairs and mud. See here: The stains on the seats are from when a mate spilled Cola when I put the foot down coming out of a junction... To combat this, I channelled my inner pensioner, and stole an old tartan duvet/blanket and whacked it over the seat bases like so: To finish, I also added the second of two mascots to my car, a Tesco 'Y2K bug' thing. Both are tucked behind the headrest and the little millennium critter is tucked away nicely using a cable tie to said head restraint. And a piccy of my Furby for good measure... That is all for now, weary readers.
  3. ok seams im all good for a while 😀 oil pump drive was done and big end shell bearings done as a precaution around 80 ,000 miles - so only 20,000 miles ago

The Amazon link that you referred to does not state that they are "Triple Square" as far as I can see. I understand that there is avdufference between normal splines and Triple Square. You may need to buy some like these https://www.amazon.co.uk/LEXIVON-Triple-Premium-10-Piece-European/dp/B07M6884DY/

Please tell the Dealer Principal that there are staff that can be telling customers the wrong information on servicing. That can void a warranty. They are quick to try up-selling but should be actually trained on what is the vehicles recommended service requirements.
  6. I bought a Ford one off ebay for my Vrs and it works perfectly. Also if you get a 500ml bottle of Millers Diesel Ecomax it has a black sleeve that let's you put it in, you could easily take it off the bottle and connect a funnel to it
  7. I've also just done three little jobs before the heavens opened up again. First was to replace the expansion bottle. The old one was unsightly but also it had a few areas that looked like they were going brittle. I ordered a Meyle pattern part which arrived today. It was £15 from Ebay and seems to be just as good as the original in terms of plastics & build quality. It's a five minute job to swap them over really so for a few pounds and a bit of fresh G12, it was worth it. It's a lot smarter and I'm easily pleased.... As you can see I also replaced the power steering fluid reservoir cap. Again, small changes but it keeps me happy. Next was to replace the offside indicator lens as it was going green. This was a copy by the looks of it so I replaced it with an Ebay special. I did the other side a year ago and it's been fine so I'm hoping this will be the same. Just as I finished, it started to belt it down so I had to call it a day. None of these jobs were essential but it keeps on top of things and makes the car a little bit smarter in the process.
  8. No its a Sony stereo and I upgraded all the speakers as when I got the car all the speakers were blown someone trying a bit to much dubstep lol
  9. Managed to be more than 100m from a WC after 3-4 days 😀 Easy pootle about in Eco mode mainly to try and save what little energy I had Someone's been busy painting the Trig points....
  10. Solid choice on a Kenwood! I alternate between a Kenwood KDC-BT640 and a cheaper 2006 Alpine unit (which is in my car currently). Planning to fire the Kenwood into another car when the right car for my second one comes around.
  11. I have fitted my after market stereo the wiring plugged straight in. The only thing I had to do on the radio loom swap the red wire around with the yellow wire so it would save the radio settings. But if you left the wiring red and just yellow it would loose the settings. I got 2 of these stereo years ago one also fitted in my peugeot. There high spec still are today 4x50w speakers, 1x30w sub, 3 pre outs for 3 amps and usb. I've run this system in the past with 4 speakers 50w rms and 1 sub 30w rms and it sounds good without a amp. The only part I need it just the bit at the top now.
  12. quick update, he's still going, another MOT passed, put a sports cat in it now, its taken the edge off the performance , but its all legit and legal now
  13. Dad, can you look at my bike please? Score marks in each wheel and each side 🙄 I'd forgotten how fiddly setting up blocks was 😀
  14. I just went out and checked but I am unable to take pictures. The brake lights do add a lot but there is a considerable amount of red light from the normal illumination (both at the corners and up near the rear window) and turning off all lighting eliminates that and really helps the camera's sensitivity issue.

Very nice Pete, hope you are well.
  16. I've tested the speakers out of the car they work it's not a speaker issue it has to be a wiring issue somewhere.

Quite right, in fact there is no need to follow the complicated instructions in the manual. Managed to wire in the dashcam using a jumper for fuse 36 (rear wiper) and the ground connected to a metal part of the fuse box bracket. Nice and easy.
  18. I got an email from the dealer and I'm informed our iV 60 is built; next month we could even be driving in our new car
  19. Wow, such an amazing build with great attention to detail. Kudos to you on your build, cars and garage too...
  20. I wouldn't go that far, prefer the 17s on it myself. Been driving on them for a while now and when the weather had been cold they were definately better at holding the road. Now the weathers dried up but its giving this week warm and very wet, I think they'll do fine. Certainly a different feeling with these on compared to the 17s, I can feel a lot more the tyres squirming around when entering a turn. Accelerating and braking takes a bit more caution, but nothing too bad and it seems to be less of a problem the more miles I put on them. Amazing how soft the tread blocks are on these tyres, probably explains a lot of the squirming.
  21. Did that when I took them off to retrim them that's how I realised they were not working when I plugged them back in.

. Mr Liger's right - spline and triple square aren't the same. .
  23. welcome along Martin_2021 from another noobie to the group too 👍👋
  24. Thank You AnnoyingPentium and have a nice weekend.
  25. Hey, resolved by turning screen brightness to very bright. No new unit tested yet though and will let you know it new unit can use darker brightness.
  26. Thanks 😊 it's a work in progress
  27. Ah, I don't read manufacturers' brochures that often. Even if I did I'd still probably use the more generic term.
  28. Your original post sounds a nightmare; it is putting you (and others) at significant risk. So here's the work-around - switch off ACC! You're the boss, drive the car don't let it drive you.
  29. Erwin will give you the vehicle option pr code list and any service guides you care to download. You have to pay for 1hr access around 8 euro. I've never had success with any free vin sites. . That said you probably don't require this for most regular run of the mill servicing
  30. It is usually towards the bottom of A that the oil light should go on. As @roottoot says measuring the exact level can be a science in itself. Even a slight movement f the car being checked off level will show an altered reading. It doesn't sound good though. 300 miles and you've had oil light on twice. If you bought from a business seller I'd be thinking about hand back rights as it is a very expensive fix to sort out. You should review options. Exactly how long and from whom did you purchase?
  31. @sepulchraveGet a grip. I posted because the OP was asking a question with the correct term concerning the rear tint on Mk2 Fabia and getting given a bum steer. I do not know the percentage because i never measured it but had Fabias with the Sunset Glass and additional tint over and above the factory as did others. So basically Skoda call it Privacy Sunset Glass or Sunset Glass regardless of what you want to call it. The Top of the Screen when you need a new one with the tinted strip is Top Shade, Top Tint or some call it a Sunset Strip or top fade or what ever. Are you happy now?
  32. Unfortunately, it’s not quite as clear cut as it was when the Kodiaq was first launched. I’d agree it’s still difficult to find better… but the cost has gone up by a not insignificant amount and it feels like the base specification on some trims isn’t as generous as it once was.
  33. Why would they not say what model they have as I asked to give a correct answer?
  34. Haha! In fairness, for such a large car, the 1l DSG goes when you put your foot down! Oh that's so kind of you 😜 haha! It annoys me that they haven't updated the firmware at the dealership when I've taken it for a service like they're meant to!
  35. Thanks for the suggestion. I used Tapatalk and that was probably the problem. It's normal with a laptop now. @drnovshek The price is 37200e, and that is a price that is far more favorable with all the equipment than today's prices. I ordered the car in February and it is old price. This is my second car that I buy through the same dealer and I got a discount.
  36. Mine is from december 2019 and the upper part of the seat was replaced by my dealer (NL). It also reclined over time. After replacement, the issue was completely solved.

Took out the 30, waited for 10 min and Infotainment is back online. Thank you.
  38. One rear door down, one to go. So much easier than the front. All the tips for the front apply to the rear, just with fewer electrical connectors. Interestingly there is more factory sound installation stuck to the inside skin of the back door that the front. Broke two clips so really don't do this without spares. Having heard that Amazon and Aliexpress versions sometimes are poor fitting I got some from Skoda around a euro each. I seem to have broken three on every door that I've removed so buy a few. Also be sure to Hoover any broken clips out of the door, last thing you want is them rattling around in there. The hardest part was actually removing the window switch as it is very tight and the gaps are tiny to get your pricing tools in. Make sure your pry tools are thin and it is best to pry up first from the long side rather than the rear, short end. Door makes a lovely deep 'thunk' now closing.

If you're not in a hurry, i'd wait for summer. At this moment some options are not available (like Canton and parking assist, if you care for them). I ordered mine almost only because of the "huolenpitosopimus" deal.
  40. I foolishly used a heat gun to make tweeter removal Tweeter, but it wasn't necessary. 50 euros cost me a new one in the Skoda.😕

Hi, It was on the confirmation of registration paperwork that the stealership gave me..
  42. £288 certainly isn’t cheap especially since it was only around £100 to choose as a factory fit option. I always like the security of having a spare wheel and got the factory fit on my current Kodiaq and the new facelift models now have a spare wheel as standard. I’m sure a how to in the guide section wouldn’t go a miss as there’s always others of the same mind that want a spare wheel and not to rely on the horrible gunk.

Sadly it is so common that the pads are reported to be down to 20% when actually that should be are down by 20% so still have 80% wear left. This is told to you by someone on the Service Desk, so by someone with a NVQ in Keyboards and the use of a phone. They have had the 'Up selling training', Fuel Treatment, AC Servicing, Discs / Pads need replacing. If the technician has to come out and confirm the actual thickness of the pads they can not. So if the pads are worn and need replacing before the next service then fair enough, but best actually inspect them first or have someone else do it. You do not want the Workshop Manager or the Service Managers spiel unless they are a Qualified Technician, they gave the up selling training. So they can get the Master Tech to talk to you, they can have a look at the Pads & Discs. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/484397-rear-brakes-after-19000-miles-very-crazy-place http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/462914-rear-brake-pads http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/472653-rear-discs
  45. Greetings to all! I have an update!!! I literally changed it all. Distribution kit, oil pump and belt. Using Motul Oil 5w30 with vag 507 specs. if it was worth it? Not at all! Stay still. Don´t waste your money. The noise continues, but far less, and goes way much sooner. I checked the old oil pump and just by turning it, it´s very noisy, especially the vacuum part. The best option it´s to live with it. I have made peace with it. Please don´t make the same mistake, likei did. My car now have 54.600 Km. Regards
