  1. More tips https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=learn+car+tips
  2. I have bought and installed the full sized spare wheel along with the polystyrene tool storage. I have put the previously installed tool into their new home but am left with the repair bottle and inflator to find a secure home for. Has anyone got any good ideas on storing these last two items, please. I did look at the elastic strap but it looks over stretched and not vibration safe. A photo might help. * I know I no longer need the repair bottle but I no longer have a garage and definitely no room in my shed.
  3. I noticed it (after sitting in the car for hours) so all I had was damp carpet . I wound the window right down and VERY gently pushed the frame then repeated the talc test. A body shop is a good idea if you are not too sure. Putting dry paper in suspect areas can be a useful way of finding leaks.
  4. Lightly talc your rear door seals, then gently but firmly close them. When you open them there should be an even talc mark around the inner seal. Repeat the exercise with the boot seal. I had a car and the top of the passenger had been pulled out a little and allowed water in during heavy rain.

  9. I worked on the Mendips and narrowly avoided impact with a boar Badger, it ran into the road at full tilt. I had to make up my mind whether to stay on course or alter course if it decided to turn back to the track it had come out of. I cannot remember my choice but I missed it and had a few badger bristles to show for it. One thing I do remember, it was the biggest Badger I had ever seen. I towed in a couple of other employees cars that weren't so lucky Badgers are pretty solid animals.
  10. We were on a campsite, without our own loo and I had to walk the wife across the site to the loo's. It was pitch black and we became aware of a snuffling/clicking noise and it was a Badger snuffling along the verges after worms and beetles and chewing them up. We stopped and moved out of its way and watched as it patrolled the verges. Following day we found a Badger latrine in a corner of the site and the faeces were studded with wing cases and seed bits.
  11. It looks a little tame for an angry Badger. We had one in our garden how it got in I know not but it decided to leave and dug a hole under my fence into next door. Next door was different a half wall with a three foot panel, baffled it went for their side gate a six foot panel. With a noise like kids on larger kicking a fence, it tore it apart it took no time and off it went to continue its journey. PS looking again I agree Badger seeing a rivals reflection, I had a problem with a pair of crows they pecked the mirror till it cracked and then the rubbers around the passenger window.
  12. I have had four Skoda before and all have connected to my telephone straight away, no cable required. This new Fabia won't even connect with a usb cable, I have tried both usb ports. The 6a is v.14 latest version.
  13. I have a 24 plate, rather basic, all the stuff I had before seems to be extras now and this is an SEL tsi. still a nice car.
  14. I think I saw the cup holder being removed from its console in a Fabia video. I am not saying it is intended to be removed, but might be worth a look.

  19. Can you photo the catch, it might help someone to identify a fault.
  20. I had a piece of road grit in my caliper, front l/h, I could not shift it and had to take it to a garage. It scored the disc! Have you checked the back of the disc? one pad looks carbonised and the other looks as if some other material has contaminated the pad have they worn evenly and not taken on a taper?
  21. Find an engineering shop and show the tube nut bits they could make one if the cost suits you.
  22. Rubber Floor mats with a raised edge A boot liner that fits up the rear seat backs Just something for our increasingly wet climate.
  23. Any new car always needs an accessories, whatever its trim level; Mine was a proper clock type, Tyre pressure gauge a proper hand filling gauge. What are the can't be without accessories nowadays
  24. I had a Fabia Monte Carlo estate and just used the gearbox to keep the engine spinning lightly in whatever gear suited me, the suggested gearchanges were largely ignore as they had little or no bearing on the real road conditions. Save your money,
