  1. If only! Yes.
  2. Yes Also Yes, but not until they've got the earthing strap right.
  3. If the problem is as stated, clean along the weld and TigerSeal as per instructions,
  4. That is indeed most unusual.
  5. OK. Do you get a battery light with the ignition on, and the engine off?
  6. Q0. What do you mean by "Stage 2"?
  7. one, two, three, another one bites the dust,...
  8. No, it's a latching warning light, and requires VCDS or similar rather than a code reader to be reset.
  9. I've towed with a number of "normal cars", and you want 2 things in the tug:- Tug mass Torque at and around towing revs. You're better placed to know which engine does that better in a Kodiaq than I am.
  10. Reply for purpose of John's test. @jocko - The above is correct AFAIK. I think you can tab a comment as "useful answer" using the trophy icon on the grey "thumbs up" icon for rating a comment, but this won't stop others replying to the thread.
  11. As other, go to a local independent specialist, not a Skoda main stealer.
  12. The OP, Neddy, last visited here some 3.5 years ago. Do you actually think he still has the car, never mind giving you a response?
  13. Which engine, and what's the use case like? For example, the 1.8t and 1.9D engines have water pumps lived at about 50_000 to 80_000 miles driven by the timing belt, so it may well be a good idea to change timing belt, tensioner and water pump every 5 years simply because half the cost of doing so is labour rather than parts.
  14. @Tailhappy@nta16 - That's exactly the sort of thing I was thinking about, but I didn't know how the Jabba clamps were made.
  15. I think I may see signs of crystallisation and stress breaks towards the edges of the piece.
  16. What you want can be done, but isn't very legal. Hence the suggestion that a Belfast cabbie may know who you need to approach.
  17. Could you do better shots of the broken edges? I may know something, but need clearer shots of the break, preferably with a scaling object in them.
  18. @Phil33 My best suggestion would be to ask a local taxi/minicab driver who runs a Skoda.
  19. You already said that; "on the Cashcow"...
  20. Yes. I mean the subframe's already been pulled apart once, and now it's rusty and weakened...
  21. Don't even think about it!
