Gives rim width with extremes at a shade under 83% of tyre width; you're fine.
  2. Exactly what components make up the ignition key?
  3. Sorry, can't really help. Even Quigg's of Parnie Street really only stock digital these days.
  4. And, other than the stickers on the chargers, what do you think will actually change? After all, the present staff will all qualify for TUPE transfers.
  5. After a bit of Google, RedEx is made by Holts-Lloyd (aka Holts Auto), and it is probably best known for making "fuel system additives" (aka snake oil).
  6. My bull faeces detector has just gone off. Glycol is not a lubricant.
  7. Real coolant temperature rather than software stabilised "gauge temperature" does fluctuate, so maybe it's a software issue in the instruments?
  8. Ah, stoichemetric. Totally different word, which I do understand. I even agree the argument, but I'm not sure I see the relevance to a low running temperature unless you're suggesting that the car is running rich?
  9. It's easy enough to check; does the container actually say "meets VAG 504.00"?
  10. I doubt it. Quattro system is or was a permanent 4x4 system, and Haldex is part-time. Also, the TT has a 225bhp tune of the 1.8t engine and the Octy 4x4 has a 150bhp tune. You can get a legal soft copy of Elsawin for a 1 or 2 hour membership to download it all.
  11. ? I can't find a definition of "stoic" that relates to chemistry.
  12. Well, that's actually right for your engine, and should be returning a service temperature around 90C.
  13. I didn't think so either, but I was being comprehensive.
  14. I'm going to guess that these are described as "waterless coolant" and/or "for competition use"? I've no direct experience of them, but suspect that they'll melt the rubber hoses in normal cars first.
  15. You say that like all normal cars have the fuel filler on the same side (or is it just less of an inconvenience when we don't spend several hours at a stretch refuelling?)
  16. Indeed. This prompted me to measure the distance on a route I normally use 3 days a week which has been narrowed by 1 lane each way "to create a separated cycleway. Since March, I have seen less than 1 bicycle per trip using these 3 miles. I normally see at least one bus being forced to stop in a live running lane by said cycleway,
  17. Also @Thefeliciahacker - The correct answer in the general case is "that depends". If your drums have slack adjusters built in ("need winding") then the pedal travel will be effectively fixed; some cars with rear drums do use the handbrake adjuster at the lever as the primary adjustment of the drums though, and this has a noticeable effect on the footbrake travel.
  18. There is a statement missing from your table of boiling point against mixture. This statement should read "At standard temperature and pressure". Your Skoda, like mine and almost all other cars on the road with water jacket cooling systems, has a pressurised system, which raises the boiling point of a 50/50 mix to more like 115C at sea level.
  19. By which meaning of "90C"? 90C on a VAG temperature gauge means "somewhere between 70C and 110C at the temperature sender". Does the OBD temperature rise when/if you go into a city or up a mountain that requires climbing in intermediate gears below highway speed?
  20. I won't hold my breath for the next several years.
  21. All they show is seatbelt (un)fastened; not seat in use.
  22. At least that didn't rush you much. But all you know is that there is a fault. You can either guess, and guess again, and throw money at the car, or you can get the codes read and get an indication what the actual fault really is.
  23. That in RHD would look good on a Black Magic car, and maybe on a Race Green pr a red one.
  24. That's not uncommon. One of the main advantages of torsion beam suspension is that it holds the rear wheels in a fixed geometry relative to each other, so it's predictable unless you fit an additional rear ARB, which may cause unpredictable oversteer (see under Fabia mk1 vRS, and the inverted Briskodan club).
  25. Everything I can find says that the car has either a torsion beam or multi-link rear suspension (depending on model). Either way, it uses coil springs, not torsion bars.
