  1. The last time that was allowed was back in the 1960s I think. If not, it was banned in the 1950s. I also think that the stewards will penalise the offending driver points in this event.
  2. I'm not making light, but this did not happen as described. The bonnet catch on a 2011 Skoda holds the bonnet down, not up. A bonnet prop (or lifters) hold the bonnet up.
  3. That's a decent price, but I'd strongly recommend buying new pats to go with.
  4. Cheers. At that rate I think you have a flat battery caused by a failure in the alternator control wires.
  5. Does the battery light come on when you switch the car on? I've got an idea, and this answer will either confirm or contradict it.
  6. Never seen that symbol before. This is what I was thinking of (first schematic on right).
  7. More likely it's your sludge then. This is one of the few situations where a flushing oil might be worthwhile, but read the instructions several times before using it.
  8. @prt57 @Wino You're both at least possibly correct, but there is such a thing as a "make to break" switch, where pressing the switch turns the circuit off rather than on.
  9. @sepulchrave <censored> you. Blocked!
  10. Apparently the 1.4l has hydraulic tappets which don't require regular adjustment. They can, however, take a little time to get full pressure with old oil and a cold engine, so is an oil change due? Have your considered using a thinner (lower W number) oil? I used 5W-30 in a Citroen ZX 1.4, and the oil light went out before the engine actually even fired on the first start of the day.
  11. Legally speaking, you should have/fit headlight washers and an auto self levelling kit. Presuming you just want more range, how about some Osram Nightbreakers instead, and get the lights adjusted properly rather than "as low as they'll go"?
  12. Well, when/if you actually want to go flat out maximum attack then the 1.4 sure. For the 80% pace I normally use because I literally can keep it up all day, the 1.9TDi torque will win out every time.
  13. I suspect the intent is to warn you if the seat back lock is not fully engaged when the seat is put back up. So, are you certain the lock is fully engaging?
  14. NO! It's a completely different engine.
  15. That was your first post. You're not allowed to send PMs until you've made more. @john999boy may know how many (and may even remind me?)
  16. Neither, because this guide is for Favorit/Felicia 1.3 litre, not for the Fabia. And Haynes are, as usual, talking through an orifice normally covered by their trousers!
  17. Even if the injectors aren't electric themselves, they're electronically controlled, so it's possible that the hit from the PAS motor causes a voltage drop in the electrics. I'd suggest having the battery health checked properly with a deep load test. Most places will do that for free if you buy the new battery from them.
  18. What @J.R. wrote was English. What you are doing is showing a lack of basic knowledge of physics, and indeed manners!
  19. Time based, every 2 calendar years IIRC.
  20. Ok, which kwik-fit branches both have a Hunter rig, and have at least 2 members of staff properly competent in its use?
  21. If it leaves a hole, or the seal was broken...
  22. ... and I know this is a "new model", but Euro KneeCAP keep arbitrarily reducing their ratings for existing models "because we've changed the standard", and giving better ratings for systems like "lane enforce" and "auto slam on the brakes randomly" (if you don't like my opinion, check the model technical fora)
  23. every time when it comes to any sensor for a VAG car.
