  1. The immobiliser is part of the cluster circuitry and you can't just swap a used cluster in without coding otherwise the car won't start. Also, the cluster from a diesel Fabia has different rev counter & speedo scales. vRS... Petrol...
  2. Long gone are the days of family owned helpful Skoda dealers. I heard of one instance where they removed a door window from a brand-new car and installed it in a customer's car which had a broken window. Imagine that now.
  3. I'll never complain about potholes on our roads again
  4. My mate got a new drivers door harness fitted at a main dealer on his MK2 Fabia and they didn't even clip the door rubber bellows back on either at the body or door.
  5. Crank position sensor has nothing to do with the starter motor.
  6. Mine did the opposite and locked the whole car with the engine still running after I got out to get something out of the boot. Had to smash a window as I was away from home. Also, one morning I went to the car and the passenger front window had fully opened itself. I swear these bloody cars are possessed. You can indeed get wires that are broken inside the plastic insulation. The locks are a pain in the arse to get to, whoever designed the door panels wants shooting. Not much fun.....
  7. Mine doesn't. Skoda seem to have decided that poverty spec owners are fair game to be gassed by exhaust fumes when reversing
  8. There is a member on here called @Tech1e who is an ex-Skoda tech & is an expert on cruise control malarkey.
  9. Think I've only ever put recirc on once out of curiosity when I first got the car back in 2013. I just leave it alone in case it jams or something
  10. ASY engine? Should be.... EDIT Pete beat me to it
  11. Try opening one of the rear doors first and then try the rubber button. If it opens it suggests driver door microswitch malfunction.
  12. Yeah, give it to me
  13. Check brake fluid level.
  14. Not unless you destroy the crimpy thing.
  15. Here's mine done with Halfords 5mm vacuum tube......
  16. The main loom for the rear runs down the right inner cill....
  17. OK, can only think it's a break in the loom if the front sidelight is working. You will have try and trace it or take a feed from further back in the loom.
  18. Are you testing for voltage at the grey & black wire at the bulb holder?
  19. Oh yeah, never thought of that. Mine doesn't have such trickery.
  20. If they are the ones in the bottom of the cills they are part number N10226501 (30mm). I replaced all of mine as they were rotting away, they are very flimsy, thin plastic. I think the ones I bought came from Lithuania on ebay.
  21. You could just run a wire from the working side.
  22. Seats are in the body section here..... https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/2005-453/
  23. Yeah, there are errors in the Fabia one, and others I've had. And ''reversal of removal'' is never that simple
  24. I've always found Febi Bilstein to be decent too
  25. Did you manage to get a genuine sensor, Ryan?
