  1. Strange I use cheap one's (4 for £2) and get about a 8 months out of them, but I have keyless entry, so I expect it to be shorter on battery life. When you install a battery use gloves and make sure that you keep it a grease free as possible, finger grease can be detrimental to the life of all sorts of things.
  2. Take it to another dealer and lodge a complaint with Skoda CS.
  3. If one dealer won't give you the information, then try another and if none of them will, then forward a formal letter of complaint to Skoda, citing the reason of complaint, that you wish to order a part, but they are being obstructive and will not help you.
  4. If you have a VC, it comes up with a warning saying key battery low or something like that, mine did it the other day outside Lidl, so I popped back in and got 4x keyfob batteries for a £3. That'll keep me going for a while. It's the same noise as all the other faults.
  5. Dunno what sort of LED lights I've got, all I know is they're very good and bright and I'm quite happy with them.
  6. Ask Sasha, she's the one who will know a reputable company or supplier, rather than take a chance off of a well know auction site. I seem to recall that certain things have to be done to make it useable (anti theft).
  7. The headlights are set up using a special equipment in the dealer workshop or factory, unless the car is involved in a accident that causes damage to the alignment, then leave them alone. The little dance they do is to set up the height and alignment using the suspension and it checks it whilst driving. The lights are altered automatically depending on load as well. If you're that worried about it take it to a dealer and get the alignment checked and corrected, don't attempt to do it yourself, because if you do and it does cause an accident through your tampering and/or misalignment and a subsequent police accident investigation proves that they were incorrectly set up or tampered with, you could possibly find yourself in seriously deep legal trouble.
  8. Is there anything left of your car that's standard fit? 😆
  9. Take it to the dealer get them to check it out, especially if it's under warranty.
  10. Yep. I know what you mean. Slow start up, then a pause, then fine, then all of a sudden it freezes or changes station. It did it twice and it wasn't helpful having to pull over and do a hard reset to get it to come back online. Luckily each time I had my phone with me and Google Maps took over to a certain point, where route knowledge from years ago took over and bought me back to a motorway or route that I knew. Luckily for me (last time) I know from around Prestbury Park aka Cheltenham Racecourse area all the way back to Cirencester & Swindon, (although some of that has changed a bit) so was fine, but doing it in Hereford & Worcestershire isn't helpful! It was only the fact that I found a sign pointing me to IIRC Ashchurch that I got my bearings and locked on to anything giving me the M5 & thence A417 back.
  11. The infotainment system is a mystery, since a software/firmware upgrade it hasn't done that. All very quiet. I'm avoiding the use of OBD11 at all, as I'm starting to question whether it was responsible for causing some of my problems, especially when I had a problem on the car and as soon as I plugged it into the OBD port the car stopped "complaining" about the issue and it vanished! Even the oil sensor issue has disappeared, only appearing once in very hot weather.
  12. Don't get me going on this.... I've had serious problems with my car with software (firmware) issues. It's the worst car I've ever owned and it even trumps a old Talbot Horizon for problems. I'm looking at getting either a BMW or Jaguar next time.
  13. A pimpmobile or gimpmobile?
  14. I get flashed some times, but I have beam assist and just leave the car to deal with road lighting and illumination. Don't give a stuff if they flash me, I just put my lights up to prove that they were low beam. Tend to it more now that they've let the office muppets back out of lockdown.
  15. It's adaptive cruise control or ACC. It was an option, a quiet expensive one too.
  16. Gotcha. So it's a double fuse. 👍
  17. That's in addition to the one that's already there (As shown in the picture)?
  18. But I'm not sure whether it's best to use a switched one (live when ignition is on) or not. Also the thing that I plug into the fuse socket has two fuse sockets on it. Do I need to put another fuse in it, in addition to the one that's already there? Or is that only there in case of different heights within the fuse box?
  19. What I have noticed is that there are some fuses for Adblue, which is for diesel cars (mine is petrol) so I was wondering if I could utilise one of those and whether they're switched or not. I seem to recall people using the rear wiper fuse position as well?
  20. If you are selling don't bother, especially if it's in the near future. I don't care about it or the car too much so, when it goes in about a year, they can do it out of their own pocket.
  21. My cars steering creaks, can't be bothered with trying to find out where it's coming from.
  22. I was thinking switched, so it doesn't flatten the battery, however the car gets used most days to/from work 7 miles away, so always live maybe OK. Also not quite sure on positioning of it. Whether to hide it completely behind the rear view mirror or just below it. 🤔
