They knackered my car... 😢
Well that lasted a long time... No virtual pedal again. It has worked 3 times and stopped working again. Tried new battery in the keys and still doesn't work and it's showing as active in the infotainment system. 🤔

Was park assist specific to 2024+ models?
I don't think it was an option in the UK. I never noticed it anyway.

They knackered my car... 😢
It was Lookers, Peasmarsh, Guildford. I know that I didn't put it on there, but the system had 2 updates available on the display on Friday, and was going bonkers. Today it was showing 4 updates! So I was wary about accepting them, but I have and now I 🙏 that it doesn't screw the system up again, I'll have to wait until morning when I go out and see what happens

They knackered my car... 😢
Got the car back this afternoon and it has been fully updated. The gearbox software has also been done, the F533 module is now correctly coded, virtual pedal is working correctly and infotainment system is now running 1969. It's such a shame that it takes a series of strongly worded complaints to Skoda customer service to get anything done & get anywhere with faults like this. But they're resolved now and I'm very grateful to Skoda customer service for helping with my problems.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Got my car back today with a fully updated infotainment system running 1969. No glitches seems a bit slower, but smoother.

Rumbling engine sound
A dashcam when plugged into the USB socket by the RVM should shut itself down, mine does. If it's hard wired in, it maybe different as it should have been tapped into a switched circuit. I can't hear anything too much amiss with it TBQH

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
One of the issues that people have is that the Infotainment system does download software updates by itself in the background, I've had several where they've downloaded themselves and I and other owners then unwittingly accept them and problems start! Most of them apply themselves without any issues whatsoever, but one or two have caused significant problems for some owners. But you won't know until the wretched thing has installed itself.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
This is where it's a bit of a lucky dip. I would say that the majority of cars are perfectly fine. Others start fine but go wobbly, but correct themselves after some dealer TLC. And then there are the others need some hardware & software updates (usually very early ones with low software revisions).

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
It bloody well is! I've got a claim against the repairers for £324 for incorrect repair, I've got Skoda CS involved as I need a car as I have to go to the doctors to collect medication, my mum has dementia (I should've seen her at the weekend), I'm running out of animal feed, I've got an accountant meeting on monday, bank appointment on Tuesday, Hospital appointment Wednesday PM and no loan car! 5th time of asking for the virtual pedal to be replaced/repaired & infotainment system to be updated. Like I said I gave them a car with the infotainment system working and it booked in for F533 to be replaced and I got a car back in a worse condition than what it went in. It may not be surprising that I'm looking at getting a different car, Peugeot 2008, Dacia Duster or Toyota Corolla.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
For me I think that the only way to resolve the problem for me is to strip the existing system out and replace it with the most upto date modules & head units. If you clean it out, start with all new modules & fresh soft/firmware, then I think it's going to cure a lot of ill's from the earlier models & variants. I found it quite interesting to see that after the module was replaced that I had a range of 595 miles of fuel! Well that might be feasible with a diesel, but not with a petrol RS, I suspect that someone has coded F533 to a diesel model of car, rather than petrol & an older model of RS. Also it did show me that there was "Unknown" software in the two lines where it normally says 1941 & whatever the next one shows. It then showed me another screen asking me for FeC & other codes! I mean WTF is going on with it? That an another engineering mode (no I didn't hold the menu button), at which point I turned the ignition off and rung Skoda Assist.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
That's really about the only problem with it that I've had, no mechanical issues (engine or brakes), electrical issues (lights,HVAC), it's just this module, infotainment system and virtual pedal that's causing me grief.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
2023. It has been a very odd one! Started off a bit wonky, got a few software updates and it settled down and was perfectly fine. But then the side shunt and things have stopped working, infotainment system has been playing up and been into the garage 5 or 6 times. It's now got to the point where a formal complaint has been lodged with Skoda UK regarding the competence of the dealer and the issues of the car. The dealer has had the car since Friday, no loan car, no news/information regarding the replacement of the infotainment system or any of its component parts. The car went in working well, bar a the virtual pedal and a faulty module, it came back out with no infotainment system and different systems not working, so if they think that I'm paying for any of it, then I'll take legal advice. Don't get me wrong. Most of the time the car has been perfect. It's fast, agile and is brilliant. However it's all of the minor things that add up. Now thinking about getting rid of it and getting a Peugeot 2008 hybrid.

Skoda Octavia IV - small scratch repair
Get a mobile car paint repair firm to do a quote. I have got some on mine where some stupid woman put a shopping trolley into my boot, although I took out a paint damage insurance when I bought the car.

They knackered my car... 😢
Thank you very much. They took the car back and Skoda Assist bought me back home, however I have not loan car available so, I'm now stuck at home until they fix it! The issue seems to have stemmed from the new module, because bar the virtual pedal not working & random infotainment system issues the car was in full working order, it wasn't doing weird things like clunking or self releasing the parking brake. What's odd is the Aircon is working, but the system says it's not! I can access that the reversing camera is working, but no radio, no Bluetooth, no media access, it threw a wobbler when I pulled my usb music stick out. 🤨 According to the system I've got 575 miles of fuel on board! Really for a petrol RS! Random manoeuvring thingy is shown, PDC is not available. If I can access anything then it works in the wrong way so off is on, on is off!

They knackered my car... 😢
Well the car released the parking brake yesterday whilst parked outside of the accountants office as well. When it was home is sounded like the parking brake was applying & releasing, as well as similar to operating the gear switch! Then showed 2 to say there were updates, the screen went blank, came back in Engineering mode where it offers you updates of software, FEC etc, I turned it off, it then showed me the Engineering Menu that's used for firmware updates and then went blank, it then went back to loading settings and telling me to enter my S-PIN next time the system starts!

They knackered my car... 😢
Skoda CS have been advised and I suspect that the car will be towed away, but I think that I will take it somewhere else as Lookers haven't been able to fix it after 5 attempts. Lookers also tried to give me a hire car in the form of a large transporter van.

They knackered my car... 😢
Today my car has been in for the 5th time of asking to get the virtual pedal working. And it still doesn't work! They found a disconnected set of cables & connectors which they reinstated & charged me £324 (am claiming back from insurance) But the infotainment system has been doing weird things, restarts, freezing, starting in sat nav mode and trying to send me to Calais. But also the car is also randomly applying the emergency brake. It turns out that it needed a new f533 module, today it went in for that and now my infotainment system is locked in a boot loop, won't start, but has offered me the engineering menu and says that it requires my S-pin which I set on my app, but won't offer me the keypad to enter it. It has also shown me a system information screen showing hardware and software as "unknown" I've also found that the it's clicking away quite happily as if the parking brake is applying & releasing or the gearbox is doing a reset. So going from no random emergency brake demands and a relatively stable sat nav with an odd glitch to an infotainment system that does nothing, And the car seems to be going into electronic meltdown, there's going to be a couple of bricks put under the front wheels to make sure that it doesn't roll anywhere. I think that I may well be changing my car sooner rather than later, because a garage giving me a car back in this state isn't acceptable.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
I've got my car going in for module replacement on Thursday morning, £864 for it, but done under warranty. Hopefully this should sort out my virtual pedal as well.

Also make sure that Android Auto is fully upto date.

Smartlink - "This Function is Unavailable"
You can try it, but if it remains then it may require the attention of a dealer to either do a firmware/software update so that it's recognised by the servers again.
