  1. So a bit like the brain of the car in that it coordinates everything.
  2. Thanks and that does what precisely? 🤔
  3. J533? It's expensive but it's under warranty thank god!
  4. Like I said I can't as I don't have Columbus. You'll just have to be patient, or go ahead and get a new system installed. I take it by your previous message that you aren't in the UK.
  5. Tbh I think that you tried to update it and it failed and as a consequence you're system is bricked, there may be a solution in East Yorkshire Retrofits, they seem to be recommended and might be able to help you, so give them a call. I don't know where you are, but if they can help you out and the distance is long, it still maybe considerably cheaper that a new system from a dealership.
  6. I haven't heard of it occurring, it's going to be a very long & slow download due to the size of it, which if 1941 is anything to go by around 9.5Gb.
  7. If you used an SSD then that could be the root cause of the problem.
  8. I don't have Columbus so can't help you I'm afraid.
  9. If you use Waze and Android Auto, there should be a problem and you go into Android Auto and tweak the settings it should work correctly. You can then choose what appears on the infotainment screen on the right hand side. For me it's messaging, calls and something else
  10. Unless you are entirely comfortable about doing the upgrade yourself then I would recommend that you get your dealer to do it for you. It's the safest option. I think that we have one poster having significant issues with the update going awry and having to go to the dealership for rectification work.
  11. I think that you need to read through the threads and then make a decision whether you can do it or not. If in doubt get a dealer to do it and that way if it goes awry they're responsible for the cost of replacing or repairing it, rather than you.
  12. Nope, you're not missing anything and I have the opposite problem in that I want to delete a whole load of rubbish from foreign stations, London stations etc
  13. But it's often out of date, it doesn't show cameras or allow you to add incidents either.
  14. Just avoid using the built in system it's inferior to Waze and Google Maps. I seldom/never use it. I prefer the fast planning & rerouting of the aforementioned apps compared to the built-in system.
  15. No idea, you would be best to take it to a dealer, but it will cost you. But it will cost you a lot more if you screw it up and brick your system.
  16. What does the directory of your USB stick look like? It should only have 3 items in it. This is what is should contain, nothing less, nothing more. (Ignore the SD card ▶️ CAR FILES ▶️ MIB3OI_1969, that's like that because it's on my tablet.) Your USB Stick must just have Meta, Data and the version files on. Also how did you extract the file? You need to extract it using RAR or WinRAR (for both Windows or iOS), then it should be fine.
  17. Had my system throw a wobbly today still on 1941, but got stuck on loading settings, after about 3 or 4 mins it decided to start properly, but it did mention something about a low battery. Too the car for a 30 mile trip and it all seem fine. Hopefully odd start ups and the non functioning function switches will become a thing of the past with 1969.
  18. Don't bother they don't work in the UK. I've tried Pay 2 Park and Pay 2 Fuel, neither will work for you in the UK. If you want fuel then use the Petrol Prices app for your phone.
  19. I don't have any of the travel travel assist features, so can't help you with this.
  20. I've had it on two RSs now and it has been a pain in the backside on both. Whether it's Skoda's version of it I don't know, but IMHO it's best left deactivated. An example of why I think so is because the other day I was driving to Godalming and it picked up something gawd knows what and threw the car towards a traffic island, I just deactivated it after that, and even though it's deactivated on the infotainment system. It still activates it when the car restarts, which it should NOT do!
  21. Leave Lane Assist off. It's a pain in the backside.
  22. Do what a lot of people do and that's not rely on the internal Sat Nav, and use Google/Apple Maps or Waze.
  23. There are updates in both hardware and firmware for the infotainment system, tell them to look for the TPI regarding infotainment system faults. If your local dealer doesn't want to know and is unhelpful then go to another one or an independent Skoda/VW garage who can. My car is having it done next week as part of a fault on a couple of other systems, so should be done under warranty.
  24. Lane Assist is pain in backside especially when it comes across sections of roadworks where the lines aren't removed properly, I usually turn it off, although on a motorway it's quite different. I don't like the infotainment system, poor design and implementation, also quite buggy at times.
  25. No. Security policies prevent downgrading.
