  1. Yes but it's better than nothing. I know that there are some insulation brands that sell heat shrinkable covers (we call them Macaroni here in Greece as a joke) with silicone inside as a glue so every time you heat it with a head-gun this seals everything. The drawback is that you can not open it for example an inspection. Here is an example: Description: 3M MDT-A is available with a layer of specially designed hot melt adhesive. The glue is spread during the extrusion of the pipe, thus achieving a very smooth, continuous adhesive coating that ensures perfect tightness.
  2. Here is how the background looks in a semi-lighted parking. Here is how it looks via the camera on parking mode. Keep in mind that i haven't press the brake pedal (more light from the bulbs) or engage the R gear (some light plus from the bulb) If i have done these the view would be better so think of this dash cam mirror especially if you park at night on alleys etc, could help you a lot from bumper damages.
  3. In every modification i have made the last years the rule for the cable is one: Protection No matter if its spiral or heat shrinkable cover i never let cables unprotected. I have bought such materials from hardware store (in case that i am working by my own) and every-time i go to the electrician the last remarks is ''cover every cable".
  4. Geia sou Patrida mou ! You don't have a/c right?
  5. As ex-Scout i am a Felician ''who is always ready to help others and do a good deed every day". In Skoda we Trust ! 🤝
  6. A mechanic which make a correction to the radiator cover push some cables more that it should be, the tie-wrap broke and those cables rolled down The pulley belt touch and ruin them, i discovered the problem when i was on the run (burned fuse plus no lights) and next day i had to go to the electrician to make an extension and secure them tightly.
  7. The whole mechanism had shown some signs of ''suffering" the last months and when it stuck i was expecting for some parts to be replaced but didn't happened. A local seller had the whole kit and i was lucky that it didn't happened when i was in travel otherwise i would have a huge problem.
  8. I saw this on Mustang 1969, the scoop lets some air to bypass so the blower can have some. Low quality photo (snapshot).
  9. I am fan of such modifications but i would choose an analog gauge in green colour. If someone does not want to mess in dashboard work can put it in the central console or (for better visibility) in the drivers coloumn as the "turbo guys" do. Nevertheless if it's tested and works then OK, congratulations for the project !
  10. Women with high heel shoes are the main ''guilty'' on damaged clutches.
  11. Different case-same cables problem. 😁
  12. Few days back i decide to go to the car wash, i rolled down the window when i started and i heard a noise like had something jammed a little bit, i thought that due to the dust this happened but when the windows rolled completely down refused to come up. I lift it just for photo purposes, can not lift it manually more because it's jammed at this point, if i left it drops slowly to the bottom, the switch works for the down motion but not for the upper. I went to the repair shop, i expected to tell me that the lifting jack has a problem or the plastic square ''driver'' https://cdn.autodoc.de/thumb?id=7277819&m=0&n=0&lng=gr&ccf=94077812 broke but the problem was on the wire rope As you can see in the photo as the window rolled down he ''caught" it and everything stopped. They told me that the whole old window jack must be replaced. Total cost 140 euro.
  13. A black and white video, take a look at 14:15 the measure for the remaining fuel. A no error method of that era. 😋
  14. ŠKODA’s only appearance at the world-famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race came 70 years ago in the extremely rare ŠKODA SPORT and one of the only two prototypes ever built will make a return to the same event in 2021. On 24 June 1950, a Saturday, the ŠKODA factory team finally made it: The enhanced version of the 1101 Sport was positioned diagonally in front of the pit wall of the 13.65km ‘Circuit des 24 Heures’, ready for the Le Mans start at 16.00 hrs, which was still common at that time – the drivers lined up on the opposite side of the track ready to sprint to their racing cars at the signal, jump in, start the engine and speed off. https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/skoda-world/heritage/skoda-sport-fast-at-le-mans/ https://classiccarcuration.co.uk/rare-skoda-sport-makes-welcome-return-to-le-mans-in-2021/
  15. Greek shops does not promote Sachs due to their hich prices, instead they make offers for cheaper brands. I have never heard that.
  16. Sachs has a strong reputation.
  17. Another one for ÚVMV 1100 GT (or Škoda 1100 GT) a decade earlier, at 1970. Plus an animation video:
  18. BEHR or MAHLE Temperature Switch radiator fan Item number:TSW 6 Switch-on point [°C]:85 Shut-off Point [°C]:80 EAN:425019291885
  19. Yes but your old altenator can charge sufficiently that big Ah battery?
  20. Only in Czech-Polish shops, the price is 1-2 euros but the shipping costs are extremeley high plus the delay (bank transfer).
  21. Summer in Greece means moisture and even 45'C outside so we use mainly 80-85 fan switch. With 70-75'C switch your fan will work very early and continue to work like mad,you will pay this in fuel consumption and early motor fan failure.
  22. Your fan now does not working overtime especially in traffic?
  23. It depends on the country (weather conditions). Here in Athens we have warm weather and traffic so for our car a thermostat 87'C and 80-85'C fan switch is fine. In Egypt the weather is similar to ours so why you go to the extreme with 80'C thermostat and 70-75'C fan switch?
