How much time do you warm-up your Felicia?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanThis make me nervous because may ruined my calculations for fuel consumption but since it warm here and i don't use the car often now i have to wait. As for Cold Starts, i think i have to give up the fight. In motorcycles i have used plain-drilled-grooved-floated discs and as for brake pads the factory-soft-hard, for brake fluids DOT4 and DOT5.1, factory brake hoses and metallic etc but now are many more companies in the market, new models etc so ''i have lost episodes'' as we say here.

How much time do you warm-up your Felicia?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI like the turns and not travelling in boring national roads with steady speed for long time looking far away in a straight line. I like to drive in mountain roads full of turns like these: https://i.imgur.com/hHXX5DV.png https://imgur.com/8hgxPdO https://imgur.com/ZQ3v2pZ https://imgur.com/zLt5RSj In the past i was driver with 2 stroke 250cc and 4 stroke 400cc motorcycles and i have an 30 years experience (in this style of roads) in brake pads, brake discs designs, brake hoses, suspension adjustment, coolant types, octane gasoline experiments, weight balance and ''racing'' between other drivers in mountain roads (yes, i admit it sometimes was wrong). I am a persist driver (not a Kamikaze style) and many times i have beat other cars higher HP than me because many times those drivers think that everything is like a straight line-press the pedal-lot of HP-i pass in front but when comes the time for consecutive turns often the ''lose it'' especially with braking. PS: before all these i was an armoured vehicle driver in the Army.

How much time do you warm-up your Felicia?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanMy car was parked in a place where the sun has hit it hard, cold start less than a minute. I parked the car in a place under a shadow from a block of flats, cold start 3:40 I don't know what to say, the German electronics will drive me crazy! On the other hand, i discovered a fuel leak few days ago. 😲 Starting the car inside the underground parking i smell gasoline but few minutes later in the road this disappeared, this happened again some times but the mechanic said were the fumes from the exhaust. I decide to take action, i opened the hood and i notice on the air intake manifold a brown spot, i turn the key to the 1st scale and i searched with my fingers the 2 pipes which go to the fuel pressure and i discovered fuel drops! Although i was at work immediately run to a tool store and i bought 2 hose clamps and i fix it, since then no smell and no fuel drops. How much fuel i have lost? I don't know because this may started days ago slowly and later get worst and this may affected more or less the fuel consumption.

Kamei grill
I saw this yesterday, it's not for Skoda but is very interesting. How come the front grill is 90% closed right at the air entrance? https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/how-come-the-front-grill-is-90-closed-right-at-the-air-entrance.52146/ and a relative video for Front grille and not only:

How much time do you warm-up your Felicia?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanDue to the hot climate here i am using my small motorcycle for the home->work->home routine and not the car. Meanwhile i manage to make 79Km in city traffic-mountain road (low-medium rpm only) and the results were very good but i have to wait till complete at least 100 Km so i can make a Gas Pump Station test. As for Cold Starts thing are one click betetr than Winter time but the external temperature is much higher and this helps a lot. it's too soon for an Iridium spark plug test, first i have to finish all the tests with the Platinum + NGK lambda and IF the results are very good then i will ''give them a try'' for few months just to have to say a thorough opinion about them.

Radiator Fan Maintenance Question
Here is a ''specific answer'', some techicians can do a refurbish job here but due to the low payment now the new guys usually say ''No, buy a new one''. The same happens for altenators, engine starters, solenoids etc, back in the Good Old Times the mechanic was giving a ''specific answer'' as ''I can do it, the cost is this but won't last for many years as a new one''. The ''specific answer'' from the driver (if he didn't had enough money) usually was ''Ok do it, i will take the risk'' or if he wanted to keep the car for long time and had the money to spend the ''specific answer'' in was ''Ok do you sell new ones?''.

Kamei grill
You are right, i never had the thought to touch this, i believed that there will be some kind of incoming air turbulence so i let it as it was. Many times i wanted to cut those plastics and replace everything down there with plastic mesh but i wonder there would be some kind or ''gain'' from this procedure or these 2 help ''pushing" the incoming air to hit the radiator in a straight line rather than swirling around.

Aliexpress? Some stores offer Free shipping. On the other hand we have almost stopped to buy from Ebay.com (US stores) because the shipping many times is more than the value of the item!

Kamei grill
Many years back i had the idea to go to a guy (painting and repairing plastics for cars) and cut those grilles from the lower part and replace them with hard plastic mesh. He said it's not good for the reduced resistance of the bumper in crashes so i abandoned the idea. The cool air goes down and i thought that more air will ''hit'' the radiator but... You mean this plastic cover?

No Vika, it's cheap chinese quality. https://www.b-parts.com/auto-parts/electrical-and-electronic/radiator-fan-skoda-felicia-ii-estate-6u5-13-165959455g-1998-1999-2000-2001-883935 Too expensive !- EBC Pleins disc D808, do fit in my stock calipers?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanAmazing but..to much work (i can't do it so i have to pay a repair-shop) plus very high budget. Felicia has 236mm, i have found for Ford Sierra/Sapphire Cosworth 283x24mm (vented) and for the 1.3 model the 240-x13mm I have 14'' wheels but i had to find an ''specialized'' brake repair-shop for installation etc.- Kamei grill

Hmm, not enough incoming air to the radiator with this design. I live in a hot climate country so i am not optimistic.- Kamei grill
Back then at 2000's was something that was attracting interest but now the company stopped producing aftermarket parts for Felicia https://milotec.de but that grill can still be found https://autodilyfojtik.cz/predni-maska-sportovni-felicia https://www.agauto.cz/15346-milotec-predni-sportovni-maska-skoda-felicia-1997-2000-po-faceliftu-milotec/ https://www.skoda-tuning.cz/produkty/maska-milotec-skoda-felicia-facelift-lim-combi/ I saw that thread while looking for an aftermarket grill although my initial thought was to ''de-badge'' the original and keep the chrome outline.- EBC Pleins disc D808, do fit in my stock calipers?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanAs we say here ''the Hope dies last". 😉 That was the initial reaction from a mechanic, an innuendo about Ford but he didn't knew at the time which model etc.- EBC Pleins disc D808, do fit in my stock calipers?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanUnfortunately we won’t be able to get these as vented discs only because your current setup and callipers are designed to work with these particular solid discs and not vented ones. The thickness between them will be slightly different which would then cause the disc to not fit through the calliper. Sad news, my dream just crumbled.- Škoda Favorit / Felicia Moose Test?
After the rollover i wanted to ''lighten the climate''. Beyond that i think a strut bar and an anti-roll bar would help a lot a car on the road. The winner is Citroen Xantia.- Škoda Favorit / Felicia Moose Test?
