  1. An older ''surprise'' from the 2 cables than i mention above. I find that damage in a routine engine-bay inspection.
  2. Friendly advice to anyone who wants to buy a used ECU: if you are not car programmer or have high knoledge in car's electronics DO NOT buy ''second hand'' ECU units especially from internet. If the seller does not provide you some sort of warranty (some give up to 6 months) don't buy them just because the image looks right, many of them have problems inside the chips-plate, seal with cracks etc or outside as pins broken or with corrosion. Here we have an example of the opposite, the previous owner sprayed the plugs too much for protection (storage). So this means more work for the new owner to clean this mess and who knows of what's happening inside the unit. Since the risk is huge let the ''expert'' do the job and take the responsibility.
  3. Update: Due to the summer vacations i manage to make a trip to the country, i had in the odometer only few kilometres in City traffic and the rest were an National Highway and Mountain roads although i was carrying some heavy luggages. 11th Gas station pump test: 255,8 Km distance, 18,660 ltr fuel which means 7,29 ltr / 100 km or 38.74 Uk mpg which are very good results. As for the Cold starts although the temperature was high the ''fastest'' always were at the noon, in the morning always i had a ''delay'' but never count it in seconds but i don't think would be less than 3:40
  4. Why don't you make a difference and paint them something else that none Felicia owner has? Chrome or black for example.
  5. Excellent job ! Simple-cheap silicone won't last more than a year, you have to apply silicone for aquarium: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/CCkAAOSwVRNZgmbC/s-l1600.jpg https://www.cvexotics.com/uploads/1/3/6/0/136043125/s997513736972108604_p664_i1_w1500.jpeg to be sure at least for 10 years. The worst ''enemy'' is the bending procedure every time you close the trunk door, after some time a ''crack'' can show-up in the plastic tube, happened to me twice but let's hope that won't happen to you.
  6. A friend of mine with Opel Astra, he thought he could pass some stagnant water, the car stopped, he turn the engine off and then tried to turn it on! This cost him 1600 euro because the soaked water end up inside the engine and "game over".
  7. They work even with the key out, slowly roll-up than when the motor is running of course.
  8. No problem, digging in old threads is very good! Is something wrong with yours? I have changed the window mechanisms in all my windows but the mechanics never told me to fit from another car.
  9. Few months back i was reading an article about plugs that a motor has as a safety feature, i think was for expansion of the water due ice-cold situations.
  10. They copy whatever they see in movies from USA although their road and distances have nothing to do with Europe, many of them buy them as a sign of ''i have money'', others to intimidate other drivers in cross-roads (''look, i have a massive car and i will pass'' and the most ridiculous comment was that: ''in a case of a crash i have a bigger vehicle than the other guy so i wont get hurt much as him". Yes it true if they crash with a much smaller car but those show off idiots never heard that the more the mass the more the momentum when they crashed in something steady and tough as wall-tree, they can turn over very easy, can not perform suddenly S turns etc. Many year back here in GR some upstart silly people start buying Hummer but the very soon they discovered that they could afford the cost of maintenance and they couldn't drive that jeep in small streets of find a parking spot and start selling it at a humiliating price . ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back to engine surprises: Few days back when i was in a traffic light i heard a 'Hssss'' sound from the engine bay, the sound was present at low rpm and was continuing till the time i was parking the car. My first though was the pulley belt, i opened the hood and i saw that was OK, i checked deeper and what i found? A plastic tie-wrap was broken and the protection of the cable was touching the pulley belt and rubbed against him. It was a matter of seconds that the cable would be cut and burn a fuse, thank God i was lucky and i discovered on time otherwise when i was starting the car at the end of the shift at night after few meters i would be in a serious condition.
  11. Thank you sir but the space is not enough, if it gets higher there would be a problem with the oval ''lips" of the hood because they touch the sponge filter so the motor can suck air via the outside grilles. https://pictures.my-callit.com/public/image/788b42461d2ee12044c181326bd451f2ac39bb41/1000911272042_20200610103536.jpg I have a Felicia 2000 year model, 1300cc AMH with 68 PS https://fichasmotor.com/en/skoda/skoda-felicia-ii-1-3-68-cv/ Here is my engine bay, i have A/C and this make things very tight inside the plastic box. https://imgur.com/65FQus2 https://www.briskoda.net/forums/attachments/?page=3
  12. Yes, that's why i opened the thread about the possibility of modification, there is no space for something additional inside there and i don't know anyone who will take the risk to create something like a plastic drawer with an extra filter inside. Guys with models like this https://forum.index.hu/Article/viewArticle?a=148398899&t=9147137 are very lucky and breath far more cleaner air than us.
  13. I have a Felicia with ECU chip for almost 20 years (one update was done recently) plus custom exhaust (i also had filter like K&N or BMC). As for turbo back in 2000-2002 some tuners here in Greece advertise that can put a turbo on this engine, the cost for the whole kit then was 1.000.000 drachmas which is now about 2934 euro. Some guys made an engine swap from VW group and put a turbo on it but some guys keep the stock engine: Here is a Favorit turbo As for the green garden water hose....well...😲
  14. As you can see things are ''very tight'' in there and lot of dust manages to pass through that sponge filter.
  15. The problem is that beneath that sponge filter there is no room for anything else to fit, there is some sort of plastic cover which makes the intake narrow, i can barely put my fingers inside for few cm only. https://nemigaparts.com/img/catalogs/etka/st/101819000.png
  16. Can i make a modification to my Felicia 1.3 filter case? https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/491645-can-i-make-a-modification-to-my-felicia-13-filter-case/ I wish i could make a patent like yours.
  17. For many days i had a ''squeaking''' noise from the front, i search it i and i have found that was not from the belt but was from the frame of the radiator. While the car was moving i couldn't hear it but when i was on a parking procedure with windows down the ''eeek eeek'' noise was very nerve racking! One mechanic said ''can do anything, it's an old car, it's usual'' etc but another one believed me that was coming from the support frame and check it thoroughly, one screw was missing and another one was loose. Here is another ''surprise'', older and not from the engine bay but it's from the front part of the car. One of these idiots with Jeep vehicles with towbar make reverse without paying any attention, hit me and run away, here is how i found my Trusty: If you ask one of these upstart morons they will reply with hype ''it's for my boat'' but the majority of them don't have (they have a dog trailer) of his father had once a boat but they let it attached because they think with way will protect their bumper from a collision or they will not scratch it while parking.
  18. No, only one store from Italy said that if i order it today i will get it (via courier with high shipping) at the first day of August (!) and when i said why that kind of delay they replied that they will get it first from the manufacturer (order) and when they get it they can send it to Greece.
  19. Here is an older ''coolant tragedy''.
  20. Yes, parking the car in the road where the sun hit's it many hours = very quickly Cold start. Here is the ''next": 10th Gas station pump test: 146,7 Km distance, 14,550 ltr fuel which means 9,91 ltr / 100 km or 28.50 Uk mpg (high temperature city traffic mainly plus some kilometres in mountain route) Yes, i am very happy 😁 and i think the results could be better next time because now the leak was stopped and the air box takes only fresh air.
  21. Look like these: https://kritosparts.gr/Part/MPOUZI-BRISK-DR15TC-60000-KLM-101000060AA/e494101000060AA I have these: https://www.maxxparts.gr/mpouzi-champion-oe145t10.html which also cover the SKODA 101000060AA.
  22. Aren't these the Champion RC89PYC? You have named your car too?
  23. The photos stored in my pc of the latest modifications (mine and the technician's which sends them to me via viber) are over a 1000 so it's very easy for a misunderstanding to happen. Besides i was smart enough to make a patent, i was not ignorant to suggest to another guy destroy the sheet metal of his 5th door to fit a rubber part. 😂
  24. Obviously you have no idea about our climate here. 😂
  25. The ''walls'' are very thin at small diameters as 22-24mm, 1-2 turns more in the screew and they bend. An exampe: https://img.joomcdn.net/2a995ed0ab3dbf0896e4cea5bf81a49dc454ee5d_original.jpeg Take a look at the end of the tube, the ''lips'' as we call them here, this is ''an accident about to ''happen''.
