  1. It’s two months old with 1700 Miles.
  2. This isn’t the bunnyhop issue suffered by several members. This is complete lack of throttle at times even when trying to move off for the first time.
  3. Mine seems to happen when it's stone cold or below 70 degrees (engine temp!!)
  4. I have a 1.5 DSG Karoq. I wonder if anyone else has had the following intermittent fault.... When engine is cold or below approx 70 degrees, sometime when I start up it starts perfectly, I engage Drive, foot off the brake and I can put the accelerator pedal to the floor and nothing happens at all. This can be embarrassing, to put it politely, when you set off from home and come to a junction or roundabout within about 1/4 of a mile when you stop, wait for a gap in traffic, press the accelerator and nothing happens! Skoda Assist refreshed the software as has the dealer. It comes up "No fault Found" on the computer. I've been told that there's a software update coming in Q2 to fix the famous bunnyhopping issue but this appears to be something different.
  5. Yep.... mine isn’t a 4x4. Never mind I’ve had six 4x4s and never really saw thick snow.... so now I went for front wheel drive, watch out guys.... it’s going to be a bad winter!!!
  6. Thanks for that suggestion. We had snow last week but didn’t venture out as I didn’t need to! I’ll certainly try your suggestion.
  7. Wow! I have winter tyres. I have read the manual ( I do object to your comment about an IAM member should read it ). I know how to control a car having driven just short of 1.5 million miles. If I get stuck I will turn off the traction control as I have done so in the past in deep snow, when setting off. I have had four DSG cars so know how they work. The purpose of my post was to see if anyone know how to engage second gear when setting off.
  8. I was always taught when you get stuck in snow you should start off in 2nd gear. I have a 1.5 DSG Karoq and have tried to do this but it doesn’t seem possible.... am I missing something? I am concerned that when starting off in first gear it sometimes goes off like a scalded rabbit which would be hopeless when setting off in deep snow, trying to keep wheelspin to a minimum.
  9. If you order a 1.5 SEL in the UK there’s no option for the raised boot floor because of the Varioflex seats. Don’t know why as it was ok with the Yeti with Varioflex seats
  10. I was about to ask the price.... Should have gone to specsavers.... just seen it!

    DRLs

I have just had this done at the dealership and confirm it doesn’t turn the number plate light or dash lights on. It’s a feature which my wife has on her Pug 2008 and wonder why other manufacturers don’t do it...... a simple safety feature?
  12. When I had the Yeti I went to the garage to arrange an oil and filter change at 10k miles. The service guy refused to do it as he said I’d be wasting my money. Oh how things have changed!
  13. In the UK the sports steering wheel isn’t an option. I had it on my Yeti and liked it a lot but as I couldn’t get it I went for the heated one and have to say I’m glad the sports wheel wasn’t an option ...... if availability had been one or the other I’d have been in a quandary.
  14. Ok... you are not buying yet but when you do one of the many options I went for was the heated steering wheel. A friend has it on his Land Rover he bought some years ago and I laughed at him... a rear poser! Anyway having driven his Landie on a cold day, I decided to try it in my Karoq and find it superb. It really helps with poor circulation and onset of arthritis in my hands. So now on frosty mornings, I put on the heated seat, heated steering wheel and heated windscreen and drive off with cold feet! Fortunately the heater comes on much quicker than the disastrous BMW X1 diesel I had which took ages to heat up, so my feet don’t stay cold for long.
  15. I have just collected my 1.5 SEl DSG and thank you for a very clear instruction for ACC operation.... I don’t suppose you fancy doing such a clear instruction on how to use the Speed Limiter?!
  16. The pictures of Ailsa Craig bring back beautiful memories. I was fortunate enough to have a guided tour of the lighthouse just before it was automated. I was on an RYA sailing course and the instructor said he used to call, if tide permitted, and give the lighthouse keeper the latest newspapers! While we were there the keeper gave us a guided tour and explained how everything worked...including actually rotating the light with virtually no effort... he explained it was easy to move as it was floating on mercury. I have never seen so much highly polished brass in my life, it was magnificent.

I’m so jealous.... I only ordered my 1.5 SEL DSG in Moon White three weeks ago.... it has just about every option except the digital dashboard! I suppose a car with multiple options will take longer than a “standard” one which rolls off the production line. I hope I’m incorrect with my assumption. It still shows build wk48 but unconfirmed. I won’t hold my breath waiting for delivery!
  18. When I sold my Yeti I really missed the “tips and tricks” from the guys on the Yeti sites. The BMW X1 forum was an absolute joke in comparison! Anyway it great to be back on a Skoda site which I check every day as I wait for my Karoq to be built. I bet Skoda didn’t realise the boot mesh would act as a fly screen as JohnD suggests. I wait with interest to see what mods Nigel 33Q comes up with!

I carry a Brompton folding bike and some quite heavy items in the boot and wanted something, with good padding, to cover the bumper to save damaging it as well as not getting dirt from it on my trousers when reaching into the boot. I researched the different designs and bought a “Boot Buddy Deluxe Bumper Protector” The Protector concertinas up and the dirt is kept within the leaves of the Protector rather than many which are a single piece which flaps out over the bumper and when folded back, the dirt is on the upper side when stored in the boot. When stored folded it folds a lot flatter than the one shown in the picture. Great value for under £30.. beautifully made... real quality. In fact so good bought one from SWMBO’s car. https://www.boot-buddy.com/skoda/karoq-2017-present-lower-floor-no-spare-wheel/deluxe-bumper-guard

I have just ordered a 1.5 SE L DSG and was quoted approx three months delivery. If i’d ordered a diesel, as Amurray81 appears to have done, I was quoted seven months delivery. These delivery times might “slip” due to the new testing regulations for new cars.

How about a couple of photos showing the dash mats?
  22. I cannot understand why the raised boot floor isn’t available with the Varioflex seats as I had it as an option on my Yeti Elegance which had the aforementioned seats. The sales manager is speaking with his parts department to see if the parts are available but even if they are I think it will be ££s more than having it as an option.
  23. I’m returning to the Skoda fold but have the following for sale! Ok I know it’s a Skoda site but someone might have an X1. A set of 4 virtually new genuine BMW Alloy Wheels and Pirelli Sottozero Winter tyres. These cost £1200 from a BMW dealership in Co Durham and are currently in storage. I’m looking for £500 which, bearing in mind these only done approx 2000 Miles is a bargain. They are from a BMW X1 2018 model (F48). Below is a library picture showing wheel style. Local collection only. Co Durham.
