  1. No worries! I'm a biker myself, so have a very real appreciation that it could be me. It's a highly risky business, but also so much fun. Every time I wheel my bike out of the garage, I do so with total respect for what might happen. I take my hat off to you for getting through the first few weeks, you're clearly a determined bloke. The Abiloader is a great bit of kit. I've not seen one of those before. Familiar with the boxes on the roof, but the Abiloader is so much better for aerodynamics.
  2. I would be happy to recommend Battery Megstore. Used them last year, great price and speedy delivery. https://www.batterymegastore.co.uk/
  3. I have used Battery Mega store recently and found them very good for price and service should you need to go down the replacement route. https://www.batterymegastore.co.uk/
  4. Welcome to Briskoda!
  5. Welcome to Briskoda! Sorry to hear of your bike accident. Terrible. That Abiloader sounds like a life saver for you and your continued mobility. Hope you enjoy your Superb
  6. Welcome to Briskoda!
  7. Welcome to Briskoda! You new Octi must feel very plush compared to the old Micra. You will get more response in the Octavia area of the forum.
  8. Welcome to Briskoda!
  9. Gutted for you. Such a PITA when that sort of thing happens. I've reversed into many things over the last 30yrs, we're only human! I would have thought a decent smart repair guy should be able to sort that out. They can use heat to get it back to shape.
  10. Welcome to Briskoda
  11. No worries Pixels. We might be talkiing about different seals then. The seal I replaced was the main seal that fixes to the car body. As per this video (4 min>), albeit for a beemeer, it's just a lift off and away you go. HTH
  12. I fitted a new drivers door seal to my Mk1 Octi, this time of year the draft was very cold !! I watched a Youtube video or two, and I seem to recall that starting in a corner was best practice. Should be just a straight fit over the seem. I don't recall using any tools, just the palm of my hand. Good luck with your repair.
  13. Those second hand clusters are a really good price! I would be tempted to have a punt at that money. In the word of cars, <£25 is pennies really.
  14. Fantastic !! It must indeed feel like night and day. Enjoy your new motor and welcome to Briskoda.
  15. I would take the time to retrieve it. If it were to find its way to the auxilary belt for example, it could cause problems. Being rubber, it could melt onto something and cause complications. Are you able to remove the undertray and see what falls out? A bright torch and a second person to help look would be my first port of call.
  16. Come on Shy, you can do it !!
  17. I managed to reverse my Morris Marina into a field. My 17 yo idiot brain and inexperience involved !! Kind farmer pulled my car out and gave me a deserved dressing down.
  18. When you get the car aligned, the garage will tell you whats what. I would expect from your description that either the front arm has been damaged during recovery, or the rear suspension in the ditch. It is unlikely the chassis has been damaged given the low speed events you reference.
  19. Something like this then? https://mattersoftesting.blog.gov.uk/category/horror-stories/
  20. Yeah, I'm surprised no one jumped in to cheer him along sooner!
  21. Excellent. I hope you find time to help members. Any recent MOT horrors to share?
  22. Oh, I don't seem them as boasting at all. If I'd achieved those stats, I would be proud to keep posting them too!! Maybe I should start a thread for the number of units of alcohol consumed.
  23. Welcome to Briskoda. Are you an MOT tester as per your forum name?
  24. I read your posts in a sense of awe most days. The stats of distance, speed and calories are impressive. When I quit smoking 13 yrs ago this year, I took to cycling to help distract me from cravings. I once managed to ride 40 miles in a day, so have some understanding of what you are doing. As I said, fair play to you. Sadly, more so in lockdown, I am doing less and as my recycling tells me, drinking more. Your posts act as a 'Briskoda' prompt to do more exercise!!
