  1. The power to weight ratio looks fine IMHO. I would be happy with one. Mind you, I drive at a sedate rate and use an egg timer to measure acceleration! Living in the flat lands of East Anglia I have no hills to contend with, and the roads are fairly busy so very often a Citigo will keep up with the flow of traffic.
  2. I had to google which country uses the Forint. I've been to several East European countries, but yet to get to Hungary. On the list of places I want to visit. We just need this flippin Covid19 to **** off ! £45 is a lot for a wheel barrow? Not that Ive ever bought one. Mind you, I would buy that VRs from Motorhub for 10x that! That is really good advice, its what I do to. Autotrader searches are a fantastic tool. You can do the same with Carguru, Motors, Ebay etc.
  3. It is very possible that it is the original battery at that age, and as such is very much on its last legs. A battery should be a cheap enough item to change, comparatively.
  4. From what I can see, that's is what they would expect you to accept when they settle a warranty claim. I think you'd be safe buying one of these from them though. Maybe.
  5. If it was a £395 car with a few months MOT, I'd ignore the reviews. But spending £9K? I've never seen such bad reviews. Do they wear big hats and ride horses whilst rustling cattle? If I were the OP, I don't think I woud travel from Plymouth to Yorkshire in lockdown2021 to buy a car from this guy.
  6. Thanks for the video link, nice to watch and share your excitment ! That is fine looking car and a sizeable saving. Enjoy.
  7. I think you passed the point of hope a long time ago!

    Welcome to Briskoda
  9. I would google the vendor and have a look at their reviews. I would not buy from them. https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/motor-hub.co.uk
  10. I think I would be having a look under the car. My first check would be a broken coil spring. Our roads are terrible and coils are know to break.
  11. Welcome to Briskoda Lots of useful information on the forum and helpful members if you get stuck!
  12. Partly the placebo effect. Whenever I service my cars or change parts, they always seem better!
  13. Personaly I'd not be paying a never ending monthly, and would buy a reliable old Honda CRV or Totota Rav4 for £5000. It's going to have more than 3yrs 30k life left in it, and will be worth at least £2500 in 3yrs time! £69 per month, no depost, no mileage limits and no penalty for sending it back with minor damage! Mind you , I'm tight and without people buying new cars, I wouldn't have second hand ones to buy.
  14. Too much technology in cars. Think of the environmental damage casued by 56,000 cars needlessly travelling to dealers to be fixed! What is with VW and the environment?
  15. Sorry to hear of your stress. Your car shouldn't be having major problems at such a young age, although I don't know the mileage. Before Skoda start, might it be worth looking at power steering specialists or people that rebuild steering racks? HTH
  16. Your garage "have said it is fine and unless it does it again they cannot find the fault." Have they run proper diagnostics on your car? Scanned for any fault codes? I would still put money on it being the battery. Do you know how old the battery is? If it is the original, it will be on its very last legs at nearly 8 yrs old. Next checks, earth strap needs to be checked. A decent earth is crucial. Clean battery terminals? Terminals properly attached to the battery? If your garage is out of ideas, google your area for a VW/Skoda specialist. Sadly, I dont know of any in Pembrokeshire. You may have an auto electrician nearby that could help? HTH
  17. i'd be flippin cross too. Not what you expect given the outlay. Given how close it is to the grill, I would cable tie it to that for now to save it from damage. Perhaps when the weather is warmer, pop the undertray off then.
  18. £96? They're good aren't they. Well, having looked at part 11 in the diagram above and the video posted, I think this could be repaired for about 10p. Whip the undertray off and cable tie it to the cross beam (part2 in the diagram).
  19. I have been very pleased with Pagid brakes and very happy to recommend. Have used CarPart4less, very efficient.
  20. Nice looking car, but I wouldn't buy a car from Marshall. I won't bore you with the saga, but I purchased an Approved Used Peugeot from Marshall, and the car was badly prepared and dangerous. Complaints were brushed aside even at group franchise director level. Too big to care are Marshall. Your Brother is being brave with your money!
  21. Sorry to hear of your car problems. As already said the garage are not covering themselves in glory. Try this: https://good-garage-guide.honestjohn.co.uk/
  22. AS @Urrell says, break fluid needs regular changing as per the service schedule. With regard to replacement discs and pads, you need to replace like with like. You've had your moneys worth out of them with 80k covered ! Are you are doing the job yourself?
  23. Have you called ECU testing using the part number from the part that was on your car? I'd be amazed if they couldn't sort it for you.
  24. Looking in fantastic condition! Thanks for posting. I think we need more photos of Skoda in India. They really seem to appreciate a decent car there.
